Being that I am originally from San Diego and went to SDSU, I am very fond of Rubio’s. Of course the menu has expanded and the food has changed a little since then as the company grew and started franchising, but overall the food is still very good. My favorite has always been the fish taco especial which is what I typically order. Having eaten at several locations across the Phoenix area since moving here 6 years ago, this is my favorite location. They provide decent portions, the food is cooked properly and the service is good. I have had some bad experiences at other locations such as smaller portions, overcooked (burnt) fried fish and a number of other issues. Luckily this one is nearest to where I live and will be the one I continue to visit and highly recommend. Also they appear to have regular daily lunch specials that other locations do not always offer!!

Mix bag of a fast food joint. They don't list their fountain drinks on the menu, but they want to upsell you to a beverage. You have to go around the corner, losing your place in line, in order to go see what the fountain drink selection is. Even the manager on duty doesn't know the fountain drink selection. Food was tasty and portions reasonable for the price. The tables are sticky, and the employee explained that they can only clean the tables with water: no chemicals, soaps, nor even vinegar. He seemed awfully apologetic and seemed sincere in the wish that he was allowed a better cleaning agent. When I accidentally left my phone behind, they kept it securely in the register for my return.

I hadn't been to Rudio's in a while so I decided to try it today for lunch with my mom. While the menu items look great the final meal was a little disappointing. I had the blackened Mahi bowl and the fish was covered in way too much seasoning salt and was almost inedible. My mom had the shrimp bowl and it looked sad, they forgot the guacamole and there was not much else on there. The only upside of the visit was a nice couple ahead of us who gave us a few coupons to use for our meal. Even with the coupon we paid $30 for our meal which seems a bit much for two meals.

I used to live less than 50 yards from a Rubios & enjoyed having a casual meal at that location once or twice a month.

I was very disappointed with this Bell Rd location. WE DO NOT PLAN TO DINE AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN AFTER THIS MEAL!

I would not be surprised to see this location listed as having violations by the health department. The soda machine was covered in goop. There was no plain CocaCola and the counter person didnt inform us of that before we ordered sodas. The sliced lemons on the salsa bar had mold spots (the white patches on lemons are MOLD!) reeked and were slimy. There were flies buzzing around the interior. Our fish dishes tasted like they hadn't been refrigerated properly. The tortilla chips were very brown, bordering on burnt. The stone ground corn tortillas didnt taste like they had been cooked. I am just praying that we won't get sick later!

While the portion size seemed reasonable and the staff were helpful and friendly, the overall ambience and food quality were disturbing. The meal with food, soft drinks and taxes was about $34 for two lunch plates.

So, why bother to give them a middle grade rather than a bottom score? I did notice other customers ordering meals without fish who seemed to be enjoying their food. They were taking advantage of the Friday specials on beer.

It's sad to say that if you avoid the fish meals at this location, you might have better luck than we did, especially as Rubio's prides itself on its fish tacos. But this location reminds me of the worst fish places in Baja, the ones where you get sick after...

I normally have a great experience here. Tonight however was far from nice, we were not greeted when we came in. The kid who took my order was very nice, but did not get my order correct. Once I noticed that my order was rang in incorrectly I did let them know. The kitchen staff had finished making the burrito & noticeably got upset that they had to remake it. The young man then mumbled something to the affect if you don’t like all this stuff, why are you eating out… under his breath. I did let that go, but once I got my food, I did check my burritos and they were still wrong. I had paid for sour cream that was not put in the burrito, I was eventually given the sour cream on the side. It was just a very frustrating experience. They were not that busy, and I felt like the kitchen. Staff had a very bad attitude towards having to remake the food because it was rang in incorrectly. if I’m not mistaken that is their job. when somebody is spending over $50 on food, you should have a better attitude and make sure the customer is getting what they paid for not throw a fit that you have to remake food &...

Wasted our money on the new Rubios Garbage taco we got the fish tacos especiale plates for 2 .....which after going to rubios for years, was assumed it would be good. the fish tacos were comprised of 1/4" dark veined smelly fish bits and stringy oily mushy little BLOBS more reminiscent of FISH GUTS.......submerged....into batter and deep fried into a huge clump of reddish overcooked crunchy batter to fool the customer and look like a piece of fish, but make no mistake.... it was a stinky fish like batter/fried flour clumps taco.... and it was so nasty, neither my son or I ate more than 1/2 of one out of 2 taco imposters. there was a lil" cup of beans included with tortilla chips. this was so incredibly watered down, it could be served at the fountain drink distributor PLUSthere was no discernable flavor whatsoever....maybe just salty I'm really surprised at how insultingly audaciously bad it was After all these years, we wont allow them to steal our money and we...
