Read moreI’ve been coming to this place for years before they even opened their second location. I always come to this specific location as I’ve always had great service and the food is amazing. I will not deny the food is still amazing and I love supporting local, small and European businesses as my husband is eastern European. Today what I experienced from Koreen was bad service. Did not welcome me in, interrupted me multiple times while I was ordering and acted like I shouldn’t be there. She sat my plate down in front of me and I had ordered pierogis as I usually do, they were freezing on the inside. Never came back to ask how my food was, which every front desk person that’s worked there has always done and she did ask the family on the other side of the establishment how they were doing how was their food but not me. Didn’t say bye thanks when I left nothing. I am super disappointed and honestly probably won’t be back. I have a platform I have a following on and did a live in front of their store and collected donations for this store about 2 years ago.. I have donated many times and then to be treated like complete crap and like I don’t belong is unacceptable. Koreen needs to learn better customer service or to be friendlier to female guests and not make them feel unwanted in an establishment I’ve been going...
Read moreMy fourth visit to this little eatery was today. First off, I love eastern European food. The menu was fairly extensive, allowing me to choose from good number of options.
I chose the soup and sausage plate/meal, which comes with fries and a drink. The chicken soup was excellent and full of tasty meat and veggies. The broth was nice but not overly salty. The sausage I chose was the Polish (and I've had their italian in the past) and it was nice with a slight spice kick at the end, but nothing that anyone would be concerned about. I loved it. The fries were hot and very nice and crispy. They also served bread for the soup as well. The bread was homemade, slightly dense and tasty, though it wasn't warm.
I also had a half order of their pierogies, which were excellent and made just like my grandma used to (polish). Loved it!
The location is hidden slightly within a strip mall off of 7th Street just south of Thunderbird. The staff were very friendly and helped explain the menu and options. The restaurant itself is small with about a half dozen to 10 tables, just perfect for a lunch with a friend. The prices seemed reasonable and in line with what I would expect. The experience was pleasant and the food was good. I will return to try out the rest...
