Taco Mich is not a good, authentic Mexican restaurant, so if you are looking for that type of restaurant this is not the one to go to! They have terrible customer service and quality of food. The food was NOT authentic at all. I came here with a large group of friends and it seemed to be a slow night as there was only 4 other people in there. I ordered a simple burrito and yet they could not get my order right, I even asked the cashier to repeat my order back to ensure that it was going to be correct and upon picking up my food I noticed that they managed to get the order wrong. We went on a slow night, so I see no reason for them to have mistaken my order. & by the looks of other reviews it seems like, I am not the first nor will be the last to get their order wrong. My friends and I all ordered different menu items so we can all get a taste of the various food that they serve. We were all highly unsatisfied. They also charge for salsa, as oppose to most Mexican restaurants that have it as a courtesy. Upon paying more for salsa they give it to you in a 1 oz. cup that is only half way full. The salsa was honestly not worth the extra money, it tasted terrible and bland.
I am surprised to see that they have good reviews, but comparing to the various actual Mexican restaurants I’ve been to, this is by far the worst one. The restaurant décor is not even authentic and does not give you that Mexican environment feel, they weren’t even playing background music. The employees here are definitely NOT interested in attending the very few customers that they get with good customer service. I will not be coming here again and I recommend other people to do the same. You have a better chance of getting better food, salsa, a Mexican environment feel, and customer service at a Filiberto’s than you have here (there is actually a Filiberto’s across the street). I hope that Taco Mich betters itself as a restaurant by all the feedback customers have given them, especially since they have been open for such...
Read moreOnce upon a time, a woman was taking an Uber to the Phoenix Airport after a week long conference. She was talking to the Uber driver about all sorts of things and mentioned that she was planning on eating dinner in the airport as she had quite a while to wait.
He thought nothing of it, until they were stuck in traffic for a long time and she got car sick. She got worse and worse and really needed to stop.
Soooooo, he said he had a place that they could stop, let her get her bearings again and they could each grab a quick meal. She agreed and Taco Mich was the suggestion. The rest will go down in history as one of the most yummy meals EVER!
After a conference full of fancy, small bite/plates, it was so nice to get a full plate full of amazing flavor! Definitely no skimping on the meat and every bite packed a nice punch. The staff was friendly and understanding that I knew absolutely no Spanish. Prices are inexpensive. I got us each a full meal for like $25 including drink.
This COULD be 'meh' Mexican, how would I know? I'm as white as a paper towel and generally get my Mexican food from chains in Michigan. Lol. But I don't think it is. The beef tongue was tender and flavorful and every bite made me want to overeat! The cilantro and vegetables were fresh and beautiful!
Lastly you need to understand that this is a casual, dive-bar style place. So you don't want to go expecting a full service restaurant...it's an order at the counter and pick a table thing. We talked while we ate and he mentioned that they have live music performers and off the cuff dancing on some nights (push back those tables!), but even if you aren't there on one of those nights, there's Foosball and pool.
For those wondering, I did make it to the airport and with a new friend that I ll call up the next time I m in town. And we'll definitely hit...
Read moreFood/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - 2 specials of 5 tacos and a small drink for $9.99. Ordered cabeza (head), buche (stomach), tripitas (intestine), and language (tongue). The tacos were were small and inconsistent in filling with some super stuffed and others with barely any protein. The tripitas weren’t cleaned very well so it was grainy. The lengua was a little soggy or over cooked but still enjoyable. The cabeza was a bit queasy so some citrus would have helped. The buche was great in both texture and flavor. The drink was mostly ice so it felt like we finished it in 5 sips. The red sauce didn’t have much flavor other than being spicy
Ambience: 3/5 - divey feel with bar on one side and food order on the other. Drive through and outdoor seating available. Loud music depending on where in the store you sit and TV was also blaring on the wall by the food counter. Older store so it feels like certain things are falling apart. Avoid the bathroom if you can
Service: 3/5 - cashier was to the point. The lady giving out the food felt like she was ready to leave. She called something out but we couldn’t understand and she just pointed at us saying ”you, you”
Value for price: 3/5 - meh on service and okay on food. The serving size was fairly small and we ended up going somewhere else to get more food. NOTE that they charge a 3.99%...
