I am a former employee of Froth Coffee Roasters. I was employed by Froth for 1 year and 4 months, just about as long as the business has existed. On 06/15/2021 I communicated to the owner, Dean, about a policy that was in place that I believed to be unethical and erroneous. I was sent home for disagreeing with the policy and for utilizing my voice to express my beliefs. Upon being sent home, I reached out to one of the owners/investors of the business, Wally, to communicate my experience with Dean regarding the policy and for hope that we could find an appropriate path forward. For Dean, the path forward was terminating my employment with Froth under the grounds of "insubordination" on 06/16/2021. To be clear, simply reaching out to another individual of power at Froth about a problem I was experiencing was worthy of my termination.
In addition to performing the expected barista tasks of making delicious drinks for guests, performing laborious and grimy janitorial services both outside and inside, and providing a warm and safe environment for guests and employees alike, I also invested a lot of additional time and energy into Froth: I created a functional and organized stock room, I maintained the plant life, I trained new hires and I implemented a recycling system. - At one point I was considered a favorite employee and would be praised with statements along the lines of creating a clone machine to have multiple Dalaina's as employees. However, once I was on Dean's bad side it was game over.
It is perfectly acceptable to run a business how one sees fit, so long as those methodologies are not a detriment to those involved; employees and guests alike.
After less than 1.5 years of the business coming to fruition 5 women have been fired for various trivial matters. 1 man has been fired and immediately rehired due to a disagreement in policy (sound familiar?^). Despite the fact that Dean has no issues with firing people in general as a form of "punishment," absolutely nothing constructive was done when a sexual harassment concern was bravely voiced by a 19 year old woman against a 33/34 year old male new hire.
Deans mismanagement of his employees and inability to facilitate a safe, calm, and communicative work environment that treats all employees equally regarding "punishment" is the reason that this place is destined to fail.
I do not recommend supporting this business and I do not recommend that anyone attempt to seek employment here.
EDIT: Dean's response to my review and experience at Froth and his lack of accountability for everything I stated is the problem with this place.
Reputation should never be a concern when fighting for what one believes. I'll...
Read moreHaving spent a lifetime immersed in the world of coffee and espresso, actively participating in the specialty coffee scene through activities such as micro-roasting, attending coffee cuppings, and sampling espressos from numerous valley cafes, I had never felt compelled to write a review. Until today.
I abstain from writing coffee reviews, because of the subjectivity inherent in the tastes we value in coffee and espresso, in the drinks made with them. It was a friend's recommendation, who brought me to Froth, the fact they held roasting classes piqued my interest. The prospect of exceptional coffee, as heralded by their website, got me excited.
I got in and reviewed the menu. I opted for a latte from the traditional menu, with oat milk, while my companion selected one of their iced beverages, our orders quickly arrived. We got our orders, and my drink came iced. I told the barista I had asked for a traditional latte and they said they would fix the drink up. To my immeasurable disappointment, they had heated up the iced drink with the steam wand!
I was taken aback by this display of laziness and sloppiness by the barista who had made the drink.
For an establishment who claims to value their coffee and the hands it goes through to make a good cup. This final hand the coffee traveled through was more than a disappointment. It was a slap in the face to the workers on the fields who tirelessly toil to cultivate the beans, and the people who dedicate their hours in the craft of roasting. In truth, this may have been an off experience, but if you are paying up to 8-10 dollars for a drink (including a fair tip) I believe you have to at least have a consistent standard of quality for your product.
I have, on occasion, been willing to pay as much as 20 dollars for a solitary cup of coffee, without hesitation, if the result embodies the collective passion and unwavering commitment of those who adore coffee and champion its excellence.
If you want a cool atheistic place to sit and get a caffeine hit, then come here. If you wish to experience coffee, you'd be better off going...

I've been back a few times, friendly and personable baristas good coffee
Came in today for a quick meeting with a client, the coffee is excellent. I can recommend Froth over any and every corporate coffee seller, get great coffee and not marketing
New pastries are bad, bad for me and delicious 😋 lemon bar is perfect blend of sweet and tart, vegan base has distinct coconut flavor
2023.08.21 stopped in at 11 a.m. and the shop was almost full. Coffee was hot and really good, chocolate peanut butter bar by Lowdown Vegan is for later after some time in the freezer.
2023.11.07 excellent latte today, blueberry cheese pastry was a nice accompaniment. Young mom and her two kids were coloring at the high top 🤗 lowdown vegan apparently is no more, so no lemon tarts coming any time soon 😏
2024.04.24 another visit and another good experience. No PB so I had today's version of the Late for Work sandwich. Sourdough toast instead of the brioche roll, I think I liked it better with a little crunch. Really nice blend of sweet and peppery. And...
