We dine here and grab take out at least three/four times a month. The menu provides plenty of choices, although we mostly grab salads, or one of their excellent Woodfired pizzas. We have explored the whole menu when dining in. The sandwiches are excellent, as are the appetizers. Special mention goes to the in house chili, with steak. This makes for a great spring board to one of the many salads on the menu, spiced nicely in the hot side with large chunks of tender steak. The corn chowder is a quick second on the soup menu, creamy with plenty of yellow nuggets of corn. The ahi salad is one of our menu faves as well, with perfectly seasoned peppered ahi strips prepared medium rare. We also enjoy the Thai peanut dressing on the house green salad as nice cool crunc when ordering a pizza. The Margherita is an excellent choice, as well as the Special with assorted proteins and veggies. The crust is delicious, and makes for an excellent cold leftover in our fridge. I’ve enjoyed the chicken Parmesan sandwich, drunken noodles, and chicken Ceasar salad as well. Dining in has always been excellent, with prompt service and plenty of beverage refills. Sometimes there are slight timing issues when ordering pizzas while dining in, but never a huge issue. Pizzas sometimes take a bit longer. Plan ahead and order an appetizer if you’re crossing over into Hangry Land. Dining in is great if you can grab an upper booth. Very spacious and good for parties of four or less. Takeout is great too, very easy online with text and email follow ups to track your order. Always packaged well for transport and hot and fresh. Nice large paper handle bags make vehicle ingress/egress a non spill snap. Sides are always packed in nice small spill proof containers with lids. Soups as well. We live about six blocks away and our food is always hot or chilled when we get it home. This is a great local business that hires well and seems to support quality employees. Always staffed well on busy weekends and organized at the host stand. Seated quickly and booth requests fulfilled when they can earn bonus points here for an often non resident/demanding clientele. We love this spot and are thankful for its presence. Create a larger level parking structure to handle the seasonal business and we’d be giving a sixth star. We...
Read moreFirst time to experience THE CREEK. Walking in the reception was chaos. They did not realize we were there. They actually ignored us ! They were focused on seating issues. Then, their assumptions were that we had been there before! WRONG! Bad assumptions! And, what did they do? Ignore us and look at the GROUP behind us! WRONG!
Anyway, WE found our way to a high top in the bar area. Fortunately, we got Sammi, and she was FABULOUS! Thank goodness we had her since she laid out the landscape.
The table next to us , we noted kept moving in & out, and that waitress kept apologizing to people It was like she was keeping a table 4 her own folks. Weird energy going on there..and whatever was going on..we could feel it. Grateful we did not sit there, especially since we were told that it was an open seating at the bar area...high top area.
For OUR HAPPY HOUR food experience, it was EXCELLENT! Highly recommend checking it out! FOOD Presentation great. ..FOOD GREAT..FRESH AND MOUTH WATERING! DELICIOUS! GREAT BAR FOOD MENU.DRINK PRICES OK. HoweveR. HAROLD'S CORRAL BETTER for alcohol and a huge complete menu. You will get more for your money.
Understand the strip mall environment costs out there in west Cave Creek. . However, keeping that ALL IN MIND, there was a WAITING LINE to get in. That SPEAKS to something, for sure!
Manager Austin welcomed us when he heard we showed up there for the first time experience. ..where do you have that happen? Anyway, ask 4 Sammi (Thursday thru weekend )..you won't go wrong with her and if you ask for her, you will avoid the weirdness waiter! We sat at the right table! Thanks, Sammi! And, the food was GREAT! Overall, give it 3.5 STARS for the total experience. Sorry, it seems the waiter makes the experience or breaks it, in collaboration...
Read moreMy first time there and I will not be back. I had lunch with a friend who has eaten there a few times before, and she even said she would not go back. We both eat out frequently and have our favorites, but enjoy trying new restaurants to add to our list of regular places. The Creek will not be making that list. Below average food, at inflated prices.
My friend was in the mood for a good hamburger, she ordered that and tater tots. The burger was so-so in flavor and simply thrown together, neither of her items were very hot when they arrived. I ordered from the "side dish" menu, getting sweet potato fries and asparagus, neither of them arrived hot. Both of these items were priced at $5 and at the price I would expect a reasonable portion. I received exactly 4 asparagus spears, and they were VERY OLD and woody, they had no flavor of asparagus and were extremely tough. It was honestly like trying to chew a grilled stick. The sweet potato fries had a good flavor, but the amount of them I was served was not worth $5 and they were not served hot.
The restaurant was not busy, yet the waitress was not very attentive. When she did check back on us, the only thing she offered to makes things right was to have the kitchen put my asparagus back on the grill to see if it would make it more tender. I declined as it would not help old asparagus that should never been served in the first place.
Poor customer satisfaction policy here, we...
