The Refuge Coffee, Food and Wine — Restaurant in Phoenix

Finally, a great Espresso Martini at Phoenix Sky Harbor!

Refuge Coffee, Food, and Wine is such a welcome addition to Sky Harbor. It’s been way too hard to find a decent espresso martini at the airport, so I was genuinely happy to come across a place that actually makes a good one.

The light bites were also really solid, if you want something before you board.

The vibe overall was on point. They were playing banger after banger, from André 3000 to Maxwell. It made the whole experience feel more like a cool lounge than an airport restaurant.

The service was excellent, too. I wish I caught the name of the woman who took my order. She had curly hair and such a warm, friendly personality. We ended up chatting about wine tours in California, and she made the whole visit even better.

Stopped by The Refuge Coffee Food and Wine while waiting for a layover flight in Terminal 4 of Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. There was a very long line, and I had just gotten off a midnight flight from Anchorage, so I was very tired but desperate for caffeine. I decided to wait out the line since I was waiting for a flight anyway. To my surprise, I was at the front of this long line before I could even decide exactly what I wanted. I got my coffee very quickly, and was super impressed. More than anything else, I appreciated the friendliness and smiling face of the man behind the register. He even upgraded my coffee to a large when I told him I'd been flying overnight for the past 8 hours. Five stars...

I ordered an iced brown sugar vanilla shaken espresso sub white mocha for vanilla. The guy at the register was awesome. Super friendly. He said no problem and accommodated the request and gave me the receipt that was very clear and all was great… until the barista called me over very confused about subbing out the vanilla for wm. The attitude that came with it was terrible. She said she couldn’t do it and gave me a drink I didn’t order but paid for. I didn’t appreciate the attitude that was served with our coffee. She was so rude and acted like my order didn’t make any sense and it was a huge inconvenience to her. 2 coffees and a breakfast sandwich was $29 plus the tip I gave...
