Birrieria Jalisco - Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Pico Rivera

It had been a few months since my last visit to this place. Even though Birerria Jalisco in pico, Rivera is not my first choice when I am craving this particular dish I prefer going to the location in Plaza Mexico in Lynnwood which is also owned by the same people. The pico Rivera location has greatly improved since the first time I came here. I remember coming here and it seems like I was the only customer they had very few tables and if I recall correctly, they only had one or two people manning the entire restaurant now they have plenty of seating and plenty of help. I can’t say I’m crazy about the set up. There were tables and umbrellas blocking the front entrance. The restaurant looks brand new and very nicely decorated on the inside, compared to how it used to be getting onto the food. It has not changed much. It’s still pretty good even though they like to serve the birria in a flat pIate I prefer to eat birria in a bowl with lots of juicy meat. Birria here is served with lots of bones and dry very well done edges. The staff was very pleasant in my pineapple agua Fresca was excellent. I am glad to see the restaurant is doing very well because it was almost full and having soccer tournaments across the street does not...

So this place almost gets 5 stars. Why I gave 3 is because the server took my plate of food before I was finished eating. That's a big no-no, especially since that's one of my biggest pet peeves. Despite that, I really loved the atmosphere. The food is hella bomb (meaning it's really good). Staff is friendly. They just took my food without asking if I was done. The lady just came by and swooped my plate of food as I watched it being carried away because I was in shock what she just did. I also didn't say anything because I was full but still - the audacity! I'm sure you'll have a much better experience than I did. My gripe is more a personal issue and that's why I felt the need to give them 3 stars. I'm sure they don't grab people's plates of food regularly. For some reason, she thought I was done eating, maybe because I was watching a YouTube video on my phone. Still, I was a little disappointed. Food is still good, though, and honestly I would go back and give them...

Food is always good but today we had horrible service.

We seated ourselves at a dirty table that was the only one available at 12:44pm Waitress picked up dirty dishes at 12:55, we told her we’re ready to order and she left instead. We were unattended until 1:14 (a man eating across the room tracked down the waitress and told her we’ve been waiting a long time) Food arrived at 1:20 Food didn’t take long to arrive. We could’ve been done eating a lot sooner if we were attended when we first sat down. We were close to just leaving and eating elsewhere but we were craving Birria so we stayed. The girl also gave us one water when we asked for two, I didn’t bother asking because she was taking long as it is. I also got up myself and asked for a clean spoon.
