My parents and I decided to have dinner here on Sunday because the restaurant we were originally planning to go to was packed. The place is a small hole in the wall & it was very hot especially being the middle of summer but we decided to try it out.We we're greeted and handed menus by our server. A thin girl with glasses. We had the Agua de Piña & ordered tacos and our entrees. Shortly after the 1st part of our food arrived with our server & the 2nd half was brought to us by a different server. The plates we're garnished beautifully(although they were on disposable but that wasn't a big deal)I had a carnitas & al pastor taco & my parents had asada tacos. The carnitas taco was delish but the Al pastor needed a bit more seasoning. We all ended up getting the carne asada meal.It came with beans topped with cheese, rice and salad topped with pico de gallo. We also got a ton of tortillas which was a plus! The food needed a little bit more seasoning but nothing some salt, lime and hot sauce couldn't fix.Our original server dissapeared so the server that brought the rest of our meal was actually taking care of us & made some short conversation with us over hot sauce and asked if we were okay to which we replied yes.The reason why I gave this place a 1-star was because of our original server. She never told us her name so I can't put her name here but she was thin and had glasses. Throughout the meal my parents and I were having a conversation about an experience I had at a different restaurant and how "grossed out" I was about my experience. The check came & the second server that was very nice cleared our table. We signed our check and got ready to leave when our original server walks up to the table and storms behind & snatches the tortilla container from the table & says behind my back "If you didn't like the food you should have told me" as she walks off to the kitchen. We had no idea what was going on!We weren't sure why she would even make that comment & noticed that she was clearly upset as she stormed into the kitchen and we asked the other server what was wrong & what had just happened and even she was clueless. The girl walks out of the kitchen & I ask her what the problem is. We had no idea why she had an attitude to which she claims "there was no problem, all I'm saying is if you didn't like the food you should have just told me" my parents told her that we weren't even talking about the food at that moment and that the conversation wasn't about that! I told her that was very rude of her and mean to come to our table and say that without knowing what was going on. She walks to our table and continues to go back and forth with me about how she wasn't being rude and "she was just saying" and vaguely apologized to my parents that she was sorry that it came out like she had an attitude like I said she had to which I responded that yes she clearly had a nasty attitude about something that had nothing to do with the restaurant or herself and if she really wanted to know what was going on she should have asked a different way because that's not how you address someone.. She wasn't the one that cleared our table so how would you even know if we liked the food or not? She just overheard our conversation and decided to place herself in the middle of something that was basically none of her business. The worst part about it is that she kept arguing with us about how she wasn't being rude and how she didn't have an attitude and was talking over us without letting us explain, which we shouldn't have to explain ourselves over a personal conversation and you shouldn't treat customers in such a manner. I wish the owner was there at the moment but had just left a few minutes before this situation happened. This will be the first and last time we come here.Teach the young servers how to treat your customers as it seems alot of people enjoy Bugambilias.Kudos to the other young girl that was there and served us.She was a sweetheart and very well mannered. She really deserved our tip not the original server who didn't keep up...
Read more$8 Carnitas Gorditas Worth Every Penny
If you’re looking for the ultimate comfort food that hits all the right notes, the $8 carnitas gorditas I had recently were nothing short of amazing. From the very first bite, it was clear this wasn’t your average street food, it was packed with bold flavor, fresh ingredients, and cooked with care. The gordita shell had the perfect balance of crispiness on the outside and soft, pillowy texture on the inside. It held together beautifully without falling apart, which made it easy to enjoy every bite without the mess.
The star of the show, though, was the carnitas. Tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, they were obviously slow-cooked to perfection. Every bite had a satisfying mix of crispy edges and melt-in-your-mouth meat, exactly what you hope for in authentic carnitas. It was flavorful on its own, but the toppings pushed it over the edge: fresh cilantro, chopped onions, crumbled queso fresco, and a splash of lime added brightness and depth.
And let’s talk about the salsa, a fiery, vibrant, spicy kick that tied the entire dish together. It had real heat, but not the kind that overpowers. It elevated every bite and left me craving more.
For just $8, this carnitas gordita is a total steal. The portion was generous, the quality outstanding, and it left me completely satisfied. You’d expect to pay more for something this good, but at this price point, it’s an easy yes, whether for a quick lunch, a late-night craving, or just when you need something truly delicious.
In a world of overpriced meals and underwhelming portions, this carnitas gordita stands out. It’s a reminder that great food doesn’t have to be expensive, and that flavor, when done right,...
Read moreSo I'm a foodie and pretty much love all kinds of food. However, the one kind of food that I am not usually that excited about is Mexican food. It's good, and I'll eat it, but I just find most places to be about the same when it comes to the food.
So I felt the same way when I was visiting Orlando with some friends and they pulled up to this restaurant. Kind of disappointed they chose Mexican, but know I'll still probably be satisfied eating here. But actually the place surprised me. For once a Mexican restaurant actually stood out for me. I found the food to be very simple in presentation, which is exactly what I like. I think places that focus too much on making their food appear "fancy" could sometimes use that time instead to make the food actually taste better.
This place seemed like Mexicans making a nice meal for their family. The flavor was good without being too salty or what some people call "seasoned." Like it doesn't need to be over the top, meats have their own flavor and it's good to just taste it in the food instead of a heavy hand of salt and other random flavorings. Not to say the food wasn't flavorful because it was, but it just felt more home cooked than food trying to impress tourists.
Portion sizes were generous, their tripe soup looked so delicious, although I didn't get it, my friend did, made me regret not ordering it, haha. She said it was great. Service was good as well, our server was very helpful in helping me choose something to order. They provided us with some hot sauce, one that was actually spicy and not just "spicy" for people who can't really handle real spice, you know who you are, lol. Definitely recommend this place if you're...
