My mother did me a favor of bringing our dog to be evaluated since I recently gave birth a month ago. I specifically told her NOT to purchase or allow them to persuade her into purchasing unnecessary items (which happens offer) without me doing further research on the product. My mother comes home and hands me that receipt and bag in which I notice immediately there was a bag of vitamins/supplements. I asked her what is this and she told me they informed her it’s “medication”. I immediately contacted the vet clinic left a voicemail advising we will not be utilizing this product and expect a refund since this is not true meds it’s supplements aka vitamins that are recommended.
Because this was done on Saturday I expected a phone call or some communication yesterday (Monday) and even allowed the entire day to for the clinic to pay catch up and still no acknowledgement. I waited today (Tuesday) this afternoon to see if we would hear word and nothing. This supplement is $51 and I will not be utilizing it for my dog especially after reading what it contains. I decide to go in person and told my mother to watch my newborn daughter so that I can get back my money.
Of course I get to the office and explain the situation and they advised me they don’t take returns on medication. I respectfully tell them this is a supplement it doesn’t even require a prescription… for them to try and argue in convincing a nurse which I am, that the bag they sold and passed as vital medication to my mother is medicine. Please note there’s absolutely no signs in the area or even on the receipt stating no returns on unused items.
At this point, I decided not to argue or escalate it there because they have other clients present and it’s not in my nature to do… not to mention I have no energy. However, I felt it necessary for this to be posted and I will be contacting the BBB because aside from the poor lack of professionalism in returning a simple call to then trying to convince me that it’s absolutely necessary for the dog to take this which again it’s not, it’s a RECOMMENDATION on a supplement/vitamin that I can literally purchase anywhere. It was unethical for them to pass it off as if it was a vital need or as if it will be a cure to what my dog currently has.
To be clear the staff was not rude; HOWEVER to not acknowledge a call or to try and “educate me” or pass as if the rules in your office do not allow returns on “meds” (which again this is not a medication) then a sign or something should be posted.
I feel robbed and that they took advantage of my mothers kind heart on portraying something that wasn’t. I’m out $50+ but rest assured NONE of the animals will be returning back to this location. I’m in the process of seeking another clinic that won’t lie and have true compassion for someone’s request and their financing when it comes to the treatment of their pet and what...
Read moreThis not my first time dealing with an ear hematoma for my dog. I’ve been with this doctor for years and have never been tossed to the side uncaringly like today.
I explained to the receptionist that I am limited on transportation and live on the other side of town and scheduled with them accordingly as well as with my job and driver. Had the appointment scheduled for Thursday 3:15 pm to come in next day for the procedure on their typical surgery day (which is only on Wednesdays and Fridays).
During the appointment, the doctor said she would try to address it before she had to leave since it was a simple and quick procedure. Paid for everything upfront, including the antibiotics, and sat there till almost closing just to be told by receptionists that the doctor couldn’t address my dog’s ear and that I couldn’t come back until the following Tuesday because the sub-doctor that was scheduled for Friday doesn’t do the simple procedure or any procedure for hematomas. What kind of sub-doctor is schedule for a surgery day and doesn’t do a “simple” procedure for a hematoma or any procedures for a non-life threatening or vital issue?
I was not upset about the doctor not being able to do the procedure on the same day, I understand that we all have lives and a schedule to tend to, as I do too. I’m upset that I was initially advised one thing, scheduled all around it when it wasn’t even possible. If I was initially told that the doctor that was scheduled for Friday doesn’t do the procedures for hematomas and would have to come back the following Tuesday or Wednesday, I would’ve called around to other vets, closer to my area, to hopefully address it sooner. Unfortunately, I was wrongfully informed, swindled to pay an exam fee, and wasn’t given the chance to address my pet’s pain sooner. Your receptionist should not have advised of such if they didn’t know it really could be done, but the receptionists there today apparently was more than aware of this. You should not hire a sub-doctor that can’t do “simple” procedures, or any kind of procedures for hematomas for that matter, on your typical surgery day.
I held on to this doctor for so long because she is caring, does reasonable procedures for reasonable prices, and my dog loves her, but this uncaring way of handling their patients and their patients time has pushed me to no...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would! I should’ve known not to bring my dog here for an emergency since I’ve encountered numerous bad experiences with them. My dog was having labored breathing and very restless I called around 11:00 am to ask if I could bring her in for an emergency the receptionist proceeded to tell me I could bring her in now but I would just be charged an emergency fee of $105 which I agreed to and told her I was On my way! Me and my mother drove 30+ mins from Lake Nona only to get to there let them know we were the emergency, wait for 10 mins, and be called to the back to be told “because they’re closing there is nothing they can do and we should’ve went to an emergency hospital” I informed the technician that the receptionist told us we could come and it would just be labeled as emergency and we would have to pay the $105, the technician continued to say it’s 12 o’clock and we’re closing so there’s nothing they can do while the receptionist who I am sure I spoked to coward in the corner. She knew she was wrong because she wouldn’t even come talk to us. The technician than told us that the receptionist recommended over the phone that we go to an emergency hospital but we declined and insisted I we come to the clinic which is very untrue! I told her on the phone I would come! if that was the case I wouldn’t have made such a long drive and put my dog through anxiety just to get there and leave within 10 mins. I should also warn that the receptionists first language is obviously not English because she had a heavy Hispanic accent I do not judge the quality of anyone’s work no matter the race or ethnicity, as a minority myself I understand the language barriers but to have someone who doesn’t speak fluently in English answer the phone does not help at all and really caused the whole miscommunication. JUST DON’T COME HERE. All the good reviews are most likely because of routine visits but in an emergency setting NO. As stated before I’ve had numerous bad experiences with this clinic and I blame myself for even thinking to come here in the first place but this was the only place I could think to get to that MIGHT see her I was obviously wrong. JUST DON’T COME HERE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND...
