Friends my wife and I were in the area and were craving for some Puerto Rican food. We found this place La Isla Restaurant. Plenty of parking, basically empty, don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad? Anyways upon entering we were greeted and served. The hot fresh food is located to your right behind a subways like process. We ordered white rice, sweet fried bananas, half a chicken, also rice and sweet plantains with pork. Rice and beans were bland, no spices, no salt, NO Sorito? Que que? Chico men, what’s up with that papi? And you going to tell me no avocado? That’s a huge no no in our culture especially in FL. Anyways for two people we were charged $33.68, a bit pricey. In addition the place was empty, appeared clean expect the unisex restroom was filthy, not clean. Over all, would I come back here? No! I know I said 3 stars on my video, but after learning about the restroom I changed my mind down to a 2 stars.

Absolutely disgusting. I won't even say disgusting, it was actually not edible. I was starving too so I basically would have eaten anything. We just picked it up and I opened it up and saw what is pictured in the first image. Literally one piece of meat cut into two small pieces. I was able to fashion together a sandwich half out of both sides of the sandwich, but you can see there still wasn't a good amount of meat for a $11 sandwich (no sides included). Again, at this point I was so hungry I didn't even care that they shorted me on food. When I went to take my first bite I actually thought that I broke my front teeth. The meat in the entire thing was so tough I couldn't actually bite through ANY of the pieces. The last image is my attempt at actually eating it...which failed. Needless to say, it was beyond disappointing. (Also they were really rude to the person who picked it up.)

OK 1st of all this is the best puerto rican food in central Florida that I know about. It is delicious, almost better than Abuela 😁 I'm here almost 3 times a week. Everything I have tasted is delicious. My favorites are The chicken and the Yellow rice black beans and the Cuban sandwich is off the chain. They take fresh pork right from the hot oven and put it on the sandwich before they toast it On the hot press. The flan is delicious ❤ The service is wonderful. Just nice people .

Been coming here infrequently for almost 20 years. The owners are lovely, the man is like a stern dad & his wife is a beautiful ray of sunshine. I love them both. I'm Puertorrican from the island and have always been very happy with the food especially considering they don't put pork products in any of their foods except for the obvious pernil & the pasteles that I buy for my mom. I can always count on them to provide amazing food and warm service.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you likely get the service you deserve...if you go in there with an entitled attitude I can't imagine you getting the warmest service & I respect that they don't put up with less. This is a family owned restaurant who's been in business for quite some time and that doesn't come without hard work, perseverance and heart.

One reviewer assumed the owner was rude to him because the customer wasn't Latino. The owners aren't latino either so that's not the reason, I guarantee it.

Another reviewer said it was in a bad neighborhood. What are you talking about? Pinellas Park is 95% single family homes with working class ppl, & both white and blue collar workers. It's safer than downtown.

This place is my first choice for Puertorrican food always. Even when I have Cuban friends over this is who we buy from & they've been...

Discriminated Against : I am disabled, I am on disability, I have a certified service dog, clearly marked as such and highly trained. I walked into this restaurant on Monday 1-04-2021 and was told as soon as I walked in by a man leaning against a pole, saying I know you have a service animal but no dogs allowed. I was shocked and said well I wanted carry out " BUT " you can not refuse me service , it's against the law, he is allowed to go wherever I go. He said well since you are getting carry out I will serve you, I said again if I was to sit down you can not refuse me . At this point I was humiliated and felt belittled because of my situation. I will never come back , the place looked tired and old. I will be contacting an attorney because of this discrimination. If this is the type of restaurant you want to spend your money at ,be forewarned. I walked out saying I'm not going to spend my money there. More to come...... 01-05 ADA complaint filed with Justice Department. Contacted Attorney at US Service Animals. More to come UPDATE* Justice Dept will not investigate due to understaff. Attorney sending letter to advise owner of law. Honestly, I refuse to spend a...

From the moment we arrived, the experience was delightful. The host greeted us with such genuine warmth and a gracious smile, making us feel immediately welcome and right at home. It’s rare to encounter such attentive and personable service, and it truly set the tone for a fantastic evening.

And then there was the food – absolutely delicious! Every dish we ordered was a burst of authentic flavors, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. We savored each bite, from the perfectly seasoned appetizers to the mouth-watering main courses. It's clear that a lot of care and passion goes into every plate at La Isla. The quality of ingredients shone through, and the culinary execution was simply superb.

The ambiance was also charming, providing a comfortable and inviting setting to enjoy our meal. We left La Isla feeling completely satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit. This is definitely a spot we'll be recommending to friends and family, and we can't wait to come back to explore more of their incredible menu. La Isla has certainly earned its place...
