I don't like leaving bad reviews or score low, this being 1 star should speak volumes. My family and I lived in a place where there isn't even one Filipino restaurant or store in town. Having moved here two weeks ago, I was excited to try out this moms and pops store.
I don't need fancy decor or good advertisement, the more authentic the better the taste I say. This place was 90% store, and literally 2 tables in the back to dine in. The way starry starry stores usually are made. We asked to sit and was judged. I'm Filipino but at first glance, you wouldn't think I was, so my family being blended definitely wouldn't. The owner or cook waved us away and said they can't help us. He laughed and said you could try 20 mins.
I've had some bad dining experiences but this was straight up disrespect. He didn't even try to hide his expressions, showing he doesn't want to cook more than a few orders at once. Like why even be in business for food..? I'm very disappointed because my kids were looking forward to some chicken adobo the whole 25 mins driving there because they've been asking for weeks. This is not how to treat people or do business at all. They started speaking in Tagalog about us not knowing I speak and understand the language. I ended up telling them to have a great day in Tagalog and had them thinking.
We ended up going down the street at Mercels where the Filipino grandma served my family of 6 all by herself. The food was delicious, low price and came out quick. Not once did she complain and enjoyed talking with us. We enjoyed every bit of the experience. She even thanked me for helping arriving customers unload their delivery...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot much of a store to be honest.... As someone said it's like half resturant half grocery store... But if this place has gotten anything going for it It's defently the authentic asain food, this stuff is pretty delicious. Store owner is just... Meh... As someome said he isn't the kind of person to care if you come back or not... But really your here for the food and it defently delivers on that. 4/5 stars... Would have been 5 if the store owner had a bit of an happy optimistic side and if the place was just... Slightly more bigger than this crouded store....
On the grocery side we don't have much... A bunch of canned foods, a whole bunch of different cooking sasues.... Tons of rice, some junk food, a bunch of different ramens, some seafood mostly sardines, and a nice selection of drinks espeshally that mango drink is.... Absolutely delicious. Store could be a bit bigger, so they could actually get freash groceries or better asain candys and more variety of food items than just canned food and ramen... Unless you plan on eating there which the food is made...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis shop might just be the best Filipino market I've been to in America. The staff are kind and helpful, and the store is well organized. You will find the best Filipino snacks and products at reasonable prices, especially considering the import process from The Philippines.
They have a wide variety of dry goods like noodles, frozen goods like tocino, and even cold drinks like Mogu Mogu! This place is just awesome, and they even have a full menu for their kitchen in the back. You can sit and eat from an authentic Filipino menu that's so good you might just forget you're in Florida!
The shop also sells UMAC boxes, so you can send a balikbayan box back to your family and friends in The Philippines. You can take a box for a $10 deposit and drop the box off at the store to be...
