Senor Taco Cantina — Restaurant in Pinellas Park

Senor Taco was a place, due to exterior, that I never would have even known was there had a friend not showed me the wonders it contained. Like many of the other reviewers, the outside makes it seem like the kind of motel you want to go to for a good ole stabbing, but inside is actually a clean, quiet and simple looking restaurant. I'm not picky about servers themselves, as long as they aren't outright inconsiderate as far as I'm concerned their job is done perfectly. I will say, though, out of all of my visits over the past few years, it's been nothing but pleasent, a few jokes over pronunciation have even been cracked.

And now for the food. Oh my lanta, the food. The amazing, drippy, fresh, eye-rolling ecstasy party that kicks the door to your mouth in and goes bananas til all hours of the morning, not even caring of your parents wake up. Your parents will party with you. You'll poop your pants and you'll LIKE it. You'll see a light shining up from above after the first bite and you'll stare into the glory before you're slapped back down to Earth after realizing you can't go to heaven when food like this exists. I can't speak for the poor experiences of the other reviewers, even as close to perfection as something can get, nothing is perfect and there's bound to be a few bad experiences, but every time I go, I eat my fill, happy while doing it and leave satisfied.

I recommend the Machete... Or three. Because one is not enough, ever. Perfection can be ascended to bliss with a squirt of like juice,...

Update 2025: I stand by my original review. Since coming here for the last 10 years it is still the Best. Fish Tacos. Ever.

I am absolutely in love with this authentically delicious establishment! We have friends who live locally in the area and we headed here for some last evening grub after class and we love it! It looks like an old motel turned restaurant when you're looking out for the place, just look for the motel shaped place and head inside!

+They have the best fish tacos I have found so far in the Tampa/St.Pete's/Clearwater area! +Their mild salsa is perfect for a spicy-sensitive person like myself Guac is delish Was sad to find on the bill it was an extra charge for a chips/salsa refill... seems odd when you really are not given that much and usually it's refills at other places. (Update for 2025: I don't think this is the case anymore?) +They do speedy & delish takeout, I grab the Fish Tacos (about $3 each--update 2025 closer to $4 69 if I remember right) & head home in a jiffy!

We had their burritos as well, and it was enough for me to take leftovers home! Staff was friendly, we shall be back a few more times when we are in the area! (Update 2025: Our server Kevin was amazing. He did great for our large late night group) 10/10 recommend & can't wait...

I have long heard of Senor Taco. It’s been bookmarked on my list for some time. Finally went to try yesterday.

Thoughts? It was pretty pricey for Mexican food. Carne Asada taco loaded is almost $4 and many of the tacos cost more than that. That’s really pricey for a taco.

The chips & salsa are delicious, but only comes with one fill. I would gladly order more though because the salsa here is really good. We ended up getting a free refill because our order was taking an abnormally long time to come out.

I got a Carne Asada torta which came with the works and fries for $9.99. Not bad, but still pricey tbh. It wasn’t better than Tacoson or La Villa and was pretty disappointing. The fries were also eh but what do you expect - now I know not to order the Carne Asada Fries though...

The Carne Asada itself was ok. You couldn’t really taste it inside all the guacamole and toppings in the torta and it didn’t stand out on its own.

The horchata was okay. It wasn’t bad or good. You did get a free refill on it which was a nice touch.

Overall my expedience was decent, but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to return...
