I used to love this place as a kid. Used to go with my parents and the food was good. About 10 years ago after not going for several years we went again. Things have changed a lot! Food was not good, coming from a Cuban that's bad. No flavor, not fresh, definitely not authentic Cuban food. They should change the cuisine to be Latin food instead of Cuban food, even though it's far from that too. I don't know what happened to the place I used to like. We went back 2 years ago before covid because we decided to give it another try, ordered pargo, batido de mango (mango milk shake, which was disgusting and watery the way it was made) and other menu items and we decided La Terecita we once knew is gone. The only Terecita I will go to is in Tampa (they are still good and have truly authentic Cuban food with Cuban flavor). I hope the owner reinvests in getting that place back to it's good old days or changes the cuisine type, because that is not Cuban. And all the non-Cubans or non-Hispanics that think it's good, please go try the one in Tampa, you will not regret the...
Read moreI come from Miami Florida and was staying in nearby St. Petersburg. Being Hispanic I was looking for a good Hispanic restaurant and found this one on Google with good reviews. Got there for Dinner and while the food was decent in taste and presentation, the value was something of lack.
Piece of a tostada (toasted bread with butter) per person so three little pieces. The first batch came with hairs on it and when I mentioned it the server wasn't all that surprised.
The food was small portioned and high prices (compared to Hispanic restaurants down in Miami). Guess it is all about supply and demand where there is so little Hispanic restaurants you control the market and how much of a portion is enough.
Oh and if you decide to do family style eating where you share plates so that everyone gets to try something, they charge you for that as well. Didn't think much of the place and well don't think I will...
Read moreI enjoyed my food at carribbean cravings. I originally came be quiet I wanted some Jamaican food, but the restaurant was closed. So I googled island food neae me and this lopped up. I got the goat meat. It was seasoned to perfection and so tender. I wanted toast, but couldn't figure out how to say it in Spanish. They didn't have any so, she grilled me some garlic bread. It was not what I wanted, bit it was fine. I wanted some cuban toast and sweet plantains, but they were out. The food made up for all the mishaps. Over all, I enjoyed my meal. I think you should dine on, because the portion sizes are different. I chose to dine it with a take out plate, and my portion was much smaller than the other diners who dined it. I didn't complain, because I needed a smaller portion anyways and the food was delicious! If I knew it was going to be this good, I would've took pictures before I finished my dish....
