I visited El Caney Charlotte on July 4th. Although they weren't originally supposed to be open that day, they announced on their social media that they would open at 5:30 PM. However, when I arrived, they informed me that the opening time was pushed back to 6:00 PM. My group patiently waited until 6:30 PM to place our order.
After finally placing our order, we faced another delay—waiting an additional hour for the food to be ready. Unfortunately, when the order (Parrilla Caney) arrived, it was incomplete; the guasaca was missing. While the meat flavor was decent, the overall quality disappointed me—it felt like a 5 out of 10. The meat had too much fat, and the sides were a mix of yuca and cole slaw.
Adding to the discomfort, the weather was scorching hot, and the restaurant was located in an open area along a dusty dirt road. All in all, it wasn't the best experience. My recommendation? Call ahead and place your order from home at least an hour before picking up the food.

I highly advise against going to this place; you'll end up wasting time and money, and you won’t have a good meal. I arrived with high expectations, hoping for some authentic food, but I was disappointed. The meat we ordered was mostly fat, and the French fries tasted like they were days old and were served cold. Additionally, the sauces were expired, and I ended up feeling ill after trying.
To make matters worse, the service was terrible. When I reported that the food was spoiled, the staff member became upset and even threw one of the...
Read moreThe food here was meh. The Cachapas I can tell are store bought and tasteless, it did not taste like corn. The pork and steak was okay, had some pieces with flavor and others mostly bland. For $20 I expect better, freshly made cachapas and better tasting meat. You need to season pork aggressively otherwise it won't retain any flavor. The cheese "Queso de Mano" was the highlight of the dish but does not...
