Ordered 2 entry doors on 9 Sep 2021. Was told they should arrive in about 7 weeks. Instead it took nearly 4 month for them to come in! I understand that's not necessarily Home Depot's fault, but I expect realistic timeframes. Called numerous times for status checks but their automated phone service only worked about half the time. Talked with a person last week and was told they'd be in on Thursday. Called Thursday but they weren't in yet. Was told to call back Friday and they should be in. Nope. They finally arrived this Tuesday so I went to pick them up today. Waited for 33 minutes while someone was supposed to bring them up, (and the store did not seem very busy at all). Finally was told that one of the doors had a big gash in it with a piece missing and was asked if I still wanted the door. That would be "no"...it's a $1000 door and I don't want it damaged like that. I did say I'd take the other one since it was not damaged. Was then asked by the associate if I could go to the other end of the store to retrieve a cart for the door! I did, but that's far from good customer service. Reluctantly decided to stay the course and had them re-order the damaged door, but they didn't believe the manufacturer would honor a rush request. That doesn't speak to a good working relationship given the circumstances and the hassle we've been through. The "good news" I was told was that the price didn't go up even though we had already paid for the order. As if the price would have increased they were going to have me pay it!! Seriously?!! Bottom line is we will NEVER order doors through Home Depot again, and I'd advise others to look...
Read moreSince we built our house in 2000, we have made most large purchases (carpet, appliances, cabinets, countertops, sinks) through this Home Depot. I am always impressed by their customer service and how they handle any difficulties with deliveries or installation or wrong products sent by a third party. Recently we bought a frig, and the first person who delivered refused to take the frig down one flight of stairs and just drove away without even bringing the frig inside..he was contracted by Home Depot to deliver and do up to 2 flights of stairs. When I contacted Home Depot, both at the local Piqua store and through a delivery text chat, the manager and associate were very helpful and got a different delivery outfit to deliver within the week. The original delivery guy lied and said our bannister was in the way, but Home Depot believed our measurements and what we said. The next delivery was smooth and easy, no bannister removal needed! Home Depot really listens to it's customers and has positively resolved every issue we have had (just 3) in more than 20 years. Excellent customer service! So rare in big companies these days! Thank you to all the hard working employees who really care about helping their customers and thank you to a company that supports these high standards in customer service...
Read moreI drove 65 miles to Home Deport in Piqua on Saturday 6/20 to pick up some melamine to use on a project. We usually have it cut into 4 or 5 smaller pieces so it fits into our Pathfinder. My wife went to get the melamine while I went to look for a new hand router. She came back and said the guy told her they didn't have any and even if they did it would take most of the day to cut it. Well, that was the wrong answer. The last two times we did this, it took about 10 minutes to cut. Secondly, they were not out of stock. I found them right where the app said they should be. It became obvious that the associate clearly did not want to help us. So I put the tools down that I was going to purchase and we drove 65 miles back home with nothing. Wasted trip. Thank you Mr. Lazy Employee. We've always been a Home Depot fan, however, we are now looking for a supplier closer to home because even when you check to see if a product is in stock before a long drive. It doesn't mean they want to...
