Read moreI’ll begin with the positive. The staff is friendly, helpful, and fast. Additionally, my spouse enjoys their chorizo. However, the negative far outweighs the positive.
My experience with the food is consistently abysmal and disappointing.
The vegetarian menu has three items, all of which taste identical.
More often than not, these dishes are served with the telltale cold patches that are indicative of a (poorly) microwaved meal.
Ordering an existing meal without meat (ex.: the cheese fries appetizer comes with fries, cheese, jalapeños, and bacon) is a risky move, as it is often missed or misunderstood.
The à la carte menu is equally (if not more) disappointing.
A single cheese quesadilla is $4.99. Picture a small tortilla (the kind that come in packs of 20, roughly the size of a hand). Now, sprinkle approximately half an ounce of shredded cheese on this tortilla and fold in half.
Order 3. Leave hungry, sad, and a little embarrassed you let yourself be robbed of $19.40 (after tax and tip) for this item alone.
One might wonder why I’d visit this restaurant, and the answer is simple. My spouse loves their chorizo, and I love my spouse more than I hate Aye...
Read moreSo far, my wife and I have eaten here about four times. We went there when it first opened and if I had rated it then, it would have received about two stars. It was chaotic and the food was not very good. On subsequent visits, the food has greatly improved. On this visit, I had the pork carnitas tacos which were perfectly prepared and served on open corn tortillas. An additional topping or two would be welcome, but the meat was delicious. I recommend pairing them with the Black beans and get the melted cheese as your second side. It's great on both the carnitas and the black beans. My wife ordered the California burrito which she let me sample and it was really good. We shared the large guacamole which was tasty, but we made the mistake of saying yes to the jalapeños. There were so many diced up in it that it overpowered what would have otherwise been an outstanding dish. On the plus side, they did let us order it without cilantro which I despise. They are very accommodating to special preparation requests. We will definitely be returning to sample more dishes served by well...
