Just got off phone with an employee not manager in which in needed to let them know about my experience last night. I paid $20.52 for the Shrimp and Salmon Hibachi only to get home and be highly disappointed. Yes I went in after 9 but they close at 10 and had ppl sitting in eating. I get home to enjoy my food only to smell the high smell of onions!!! I open plate and see nothing but grilled onions on one side and on other salmon pieces shrimp and few broccoli florets!! So I separated to see if maybe there were "veggies" somewhere else especially zucchini but nothing! So I expressed this in a polite manner to the employee who was relaying messages to manager( in which I think should be handled by them) and my result was: My manager said he was here and didn't get an order for Salmon and Shrimp(so I go to my card activity and I confirm the transaction) then after that she says O SO U JUST NEED ZUCCHINI?? Umm what am I gonna do with zucchini today when I paid for it in my food as it should have been? Then I even expressed that I took into consideration that they were closing and didn't adjust my food because I don't care too much for onions but wasn't expecting a whole plate! Then she says O WELL YEA THE SALMON AND SHRIMP COME WITH MOSTLY ONIONS! I was set back then and I let her know that they should tell customers that instead of "veggies" say with GRILLED ONIONS! I'm very unhappy with this because I could've went to McDonald's and spent way less with expecting a disappointment but never would I have thought here and with no end result with at least an APOLOGY! IM POSTING PIC THAT I TOLD THEM I TOOK...
Read moreActually…. Not a bad place at all! Very similar, if not the same restaurant, located on Durham by Hillsborough Road (on 147), but overall very good! The white sauce does lack a bit of flavor compared to other locations, but it does taste like the usual ingredients for the white/yum yum sauce recipe: mayonnaise, maybe even butter, and some condiment like paprika and vinegar I think (I used to work at a couple of Chinese food restaurants) but it also depends on personal preference. I’m writing and giving a review based on my experience. Overall, I do recommend. When we called for pickup the lady on the phone did say that it was going to be about a 20 minute wait, so do order ahead of time. We got there in about 25 minutes, but the food was still warm (not burning hot, but it was still very good) portion was GREAT, I got full with less than half of the plate. I also suggest checking out the little sauce station to get extra sauces if you wanted more or just ask for more, I think they charge for extra but I’m not 100% sure, and utensils and napkins are also available in the same area by the sauce-filling-station. I will be coming back. Thank you for the service...
Read more100 sanitation rating does not equate to good food. The only thing Japanese about this place is the word in the name. The food is not Japanese recipes. The sushi.. if you can call it that.. is an extremely limited menu (basically just california rolls). The "chicken teriyaki" is not teriyaki. And as I'm eating it writing this review, I'm questioning the chicken too. Most of it is dark meat chicken and hardly any white meat. The teriyaki sauce the chicken is in doesn't even have a hint of teriyaki flavor to it. Not a single person who works at this establishment was from Japanese decent (or from any Asian decent). It was operated by 2 teenage white girls who could barely take my order, and the cook was a latino.
The people writing the other reviews here have never left the Pittsboro area and had any real food. Take your 100 rating and get some real recipes.. and maybe some real sushi? Terrible Japanese cuisine experience. The name of this place is completely false...
