It started out with we asked for a booth and the host said she'd have to clean one than went ahead and sat 2 tables at booths before us even though we were there first. Then she goes "oh you guys are next right" and I'm like well we were actually ahead of both of those tables you just sat and she just said "oh" and walked off no sorry or anything. Then our server was training a girl which is fine but the girl took our order and I ordered the whisky river burger because I like the bacon and crispy onions on it. The server had the new girl drop our food off for us and she was like let me know if you need anything and walked away. Well my burger was missing the onions and all of the burger toppings so I tried getting our servers attention and she completely ignored me till she saw me get up then she came over and was like is everything all right and I was like no, (which should have been obvious since we'd had our food for 10 minutes and I hadn't touched my burger) my burger doesn't have the crispy onions or the toppings that go on it and in a completely monotone voice she responds "Oh sorry and walks away without another word.5 minutes latter the trainee comes by and we ask about it and she's like oh I'll go get that for you. Then the server comes out with some soggy grilled onions (I say soggy because they looked like they were floating in water) and puts them on the table and walks off. At this point I'm just pissed. So the trainee comes back by and I'm like just take my burger back I don't even want it. Then the manager comes out and is like oh were so sorry that should have been done the first time correctly let me make you something else and I'm like no I'm fine and she's like I'll make you anything so I said just give me a house salad. So they bring it out and it's missing the bacon and half the lettuce is bad I had to keep picking it out but I'm thinking well it's on the house so I'll just deal with it. While I understand and appreciate the challenges of understaffing and try to be patient with what can be extended waits, our server tonight was inattentive and was fixated on a single table. Our appetizer and salads arrived together and within a few minutes our entrees arrived before we could get started on our salads. Additionally, our server then disappeared to tend to the other table leaving us with no refills for the remainder of our evening. Meanwhile, other tables on our section were also receiving their entrees and salads simultaneously. One table complained and were comped a dessert while we were still being ignored. The server went to the kitchen for approximately 10 to 15 minutes and when they returned, claimed there was a food mixup in the back although all of the tables that were in this servers section had received all of their food. We frequent this establishment quite often and usually have good service. We were going to alert the manager to the arrival of our entire order until we saw him deliver another tables entire order much to the annoyance of the customers, so we decided not to bother. From there it was downhill. 10+ minutes before taking our drink order and another 15 to get them....no we didn't order alcohol. After about an hour we asked if our food was close and the waitress said she would check. Keep in mind 2 tables near us arrived after and were about half way through their entree when we asked about ours. The food finally started coming out and we requested silverware and napkins. A few minutes later the manager walked by so we asked him for silverware as well....it finally arrived. The food was the same as about any Applebee's with exception of the crunchy shrimp which was a little soft. However, nobody had previous experience with the shrimp so perhaps that is normal. Lastly, we only received refills upon request. The facility was clean and the food quality was what you would expect, so perhaps I should have gone 2 stars.
