TOAST has been my favorite restaurant in Pittsburg since it opened. The staff is kind, helpful, and often goes above and beyond. The restaurant is decorated with local art. The menu is phenomenal. There are so many great options and the seasonal dishes are always something to look forward to. They use local ingredients as much as possible and have so many cool partnerships with local farmers. They do an amazing job of offering options for everyone. I have a gluten intolerance and have had no problems eating here. Many of their menu options are customizable to your needs. Just ask the friendly staff and let them know about your intolerance or allergies. They have gluten free bread, but you can also get many of their sandwiches on taters or on a salad instead of bread. I love to get the palluca's toast melt on a salad instead of bread. You should definitely stop by for lunch on taco Tuesday for some taco taters. I love the cubano sandwich and the logan's salad is so tasty. Their salads have REAL greens, not that iceberg lettuce. Let them know if it is your birthday and get a scoop of gelato and a cutting of a plant. They also have great drink options - cocktails and mocktails. They take their time with cooking your food to make sure it is right. Make sure you carve out enough time to eat. This isn't a fast food restaurant. Sit and savor your company and then sit and savor...

We waited over 45-50 minutes for a hard boiled egg on toast with a salad. The restaurant claimed they "lost" our ticket and asked to give us gelato for the mistake. We asked for a refund instead and they gave us cookies. I am gluten free so can't eat the cookies. It still took 15 minutes after they realized they had lost our ticket, and they did not refund us. I also was excited about the gluten free options. The gluten free toast was dry by the time we got it. I won't eat here again when I come back through. Worst customer service ever.

And after reading the awful response- I would not recommend going here. We were not hateful at all to anyone. We walked in around 12pm not 1pm, but for someone to be "waiting" for a bad review says something in itself. I was not rude to any staff members at all, and it is really surprising to me that this restaurant would "be sharing this with our crew as a teaching moment of how to not let customers treat them." This should be a teaching moment of how NOT to make customers wait for over 45 minutes for their food or lose tickets. Maybe check the ticket line up? Maybe work on your customer service of how you are going to handle these situations before someone comes in? But, instead you are extremely rude to the customer, scapegoating them for your bad service....

LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this place! We have only been here twice but if we lived in Pittsburg, I would seriously eat here all the time. The food is super fresh and delicious and everyone that works here is very friendly. I have ordered the same thing each time (the Smoked Salmon plate) and it is so good. They do have a good variety of items to pick from (I wish I would have taken a pic of the menu - sorry, but you can see it on Facebook). When you walk in, look up and to your left and you’ll find a HUGE copy of the menu. Order at the counter and pay and they will bring your food to your table. Make sure you don’t forget to add a tip even though you place your own order. They are very attentive with refilling your drinks, (plus they are all so nice) so they are still waiting on you. And I know this doesn’t have anything to do with the food, but I think the tiki glasses are wonderful. This place just has a welcoming and fun atmosphere to it. Oh, and don’t forget the gelato. Seriously, don’t forget the gelato. You won’t regret it! I can’t...

Huge selection of hipster food with amazing flavor and superb atmosphere - you'll enjoy this beautiful restaurant on 4th Street. It has the feel of a chic restaurant from Lawrence with local goods and ingredients sold here. If you want a hometown feel and a little cheaper price, head to Bob's, Otto's, or Harry's. We enjoyed a take-out breakfast that took 40 minutes to get to us. The food still had a great temperature despite some of it sitting on the counter for about 20 minutes. They already had a sign prepped explaining that because of a small kitchen and staff (of 2), orders can take more time. The hold-up was mac and cheese. Noodles still a little firmer than al dente and the sauce dropped to the bottom of the bowl. The toast was all crunch. The breakfast sandwiches had good flavor, although the bread would have been easier to bite through if just a tad softer. Overall, an great place to grab a bite if you are looking for a fresh, new taste.

We visited for the first time yesterday and we were so impressed! First and foremost - this is the only Brunch place in the area that service fancy coffee as well as hot delicious breakfast/brunch. This is huge! Every other place that serves food around here has drip only, and places with espresso type drinks only serve danishes and bagels and the like (breakfast light/grab’n’go stuff) The food was delicious, we both got the Fat bottom omelet and their skillet potatoes - so good! The ambiance was super chill and cool, and they have a selection of local goods like in-house baked sourdough bread, deserts, honey and etc. The place was a whole vibe! Super happy to have great brunch place to visit with excellent coffee!!
