El Caballo de Oro — Restaurant in Pittsburg

The #1 Mexican restaurant in the Southeast Kansas area! My husband and I frequently visit and it’s always delicious. We have tried several Mexican restaurants in the area and El Caballo is by far the best! The chips and salsa are great and the cheese dip has a spicy kick to it. They have a large menu with so many tasty options. You can’t go wrong - fajitas, chicken & rice, burritos, tacos, molcajete, everything is yummy! Portion sizes are huge, too. I always bring home leftovers. They have specials on food and drinks every day. Their margaritas are the bomb - strong and not too sweet! Service is ALWAYS fast even on very busy nights. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch with our adult grandchildren this past weekend. There were six of us and we were seated promptly. We each ordered something different. Everything came out very quickly and was very tasty. Can't say enough good things about this place.

This is very good Mexican food! The chips are light and crispy, the salsa had great flavor! Everyone gets their own salsa bowl, no double dipping worries. We had the chili rellano, really good.
