Found street parking easily on a Saturday night, entered a very eclectic bar with interesting art and wacky décor.
They have an extensive wine, beer and cocktail list and offer small plates and charcuterie.
COCKTAILS: -Mother-in-Law: bourbon, maraschino, curaçao, amer, angostura, peychauds -Bankers Punch: rum, irish whiskey, port, bitters, lime, berry liqueur, pineapple gomme *this cocktail was boozy and sweet -Boulevardier: *this might be the best boulevardier I've ever had, it was literally perfection -I also had two glasses of red and enjoyed them both immensely and were served in big wine glasses which I love.
FOOD: -Toasties (grilled cheese sandwich) $6 + $1 for 1 slice of prosciutto *pretty small sandwich, didn't really taste the prosciutto because it was so thin and only one slice, I did like the potato sticks, added a nice texture -Cheese & Meat $6 each -a la carte, comes w/ bread & accompaniments *picked 1 salami and 1 cheese, really small portion again
These are hands down the best cocktails I've had in Pittsburgh and definitely some of my favorite...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to meet up with our friends here to celebrate their nuptials. It was our first time patronizing and when we walked in, I overheard one of the bartenders say Oh great, now we're gonna have black people coming in here." The male bartender was very friendly and let me taste different wines. I settled on one. Then I overheard her ask him what I chose. When he told her, she smirked. Lol. Maybe I chose a cheap one? A bit pretentious much? The male bartender was great. We spent $100 that night and tipped him well. This was some time ago. I wish I wrote this review sooner so i could recall names. Overall, the service from the guy was great, but I...
Read moreThe drink prices were reasonable, but I was deeply unsettled by an interaction with the bartender. While having a respectful conversation with others at the bar, I was abruptly told that this "isn't that type of bar" and that I shouldn't be talking to people. What stood out most was that this comment seemed directed at me and my friend solely because my friend is not white. It was an unexpected and disappointing experience that left a lasting impression. A bar should be a welcoming space for all patrons, and this encounter suggested otherwise. Just very strange, I was so respectful all night and not prying into anyone's lives or personal spaces. Will not be...
