Do you know what my favorite thing about living in Lawrenceville is? It's that I can walk to Mediterra Cafe and order brunch: the oat flour waffle, a butter croissant, and a small latte (iced latte if it’s hot out!); and subsequently plop my lil’ behind down at a table and read a chapter from a book (right now, I am working through the Lord of The Rings trilogy, but I digress).
The food is superb. I like eating food that makes me feel good, and the food at Mediterra makes me feel good. I guarantee that anything that you order is going to be delicious. The portions are generous (I wear pants with room… lol…). Also, on Saturdays, they make pretzels and they’re huge and very tasty (my mom really likes the pretzels, too!). I am also not-so-secretly obsessed with the ham and cheese croissant (although, it’s popular, so you better come early to get one)… I could eat one of those every day! The chicken salad is also really tasty—better than the herbed egg salad (which is also really good), somehow…
The service is amazing—everyone is super kind and friendly! I love catching up with the lovely people there (I don’t know if I can name names, but you know who you are! ☺️). I think that it is one thing to have good food, but it’s another thing when the service matches the goodness of the food—that’s probably why the line can be so long that it’s almost out the door sometimes (usually in the Fall and Spring because more students are around and families aren’t vacationing!).
If you can stop by on a weekend this August, try the peach cheesecake croissant! It is incredible, and I might like it more than almond croissants (which are my favorite): it’s tangy and rich cheesecake with refreshing peaches all wrapped in a buttery and light croissant! That’s the croissant in the picture—also, please excuse Mickey’s...
Read moreBeautiful coffee shop with wonderful selection of incredible pastries, baked goods, desserts, as well as divine breakfast and lunch entrees. Much more than just a coffee shop, Mediterra crams a lot into a small footprint. Plenty of two top seating, lovely overhead lighting, a full pastry counter and fridge and space for the eye to wander and search for the next thing to try.
On our visit we tried the shortbread (a rendition of a twix with a thick circular shortbread base and caramel and chocolate ringed topping) as well as their seasonal cheese toast, bacon and onion jam croissant, and their ham and cheese croissant. We also tried the iced Nutella latte and cold brew. The seasonal cheese toast was packed with late summer flavors like lemon, olive oil, ricotta, wheat toast, blackberries, marcona almonds, thinly sliced (almost as garnishes) shisito peppers and more goodies. We also loved how the Nutella latte was not super sweet as you might expect with something donning the Nutella cap.
Great, beautiful sit down spot in Lawrenceville for a great conversation with a loved one over a buttery and warm ham and cheese croissant with a latte. Can't beat that!
P.S we didn't try them but the Cruffins...
Read moreI recently visited Mediterra Cafe in Lawrenceville and had an incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a delicious meal.
I ordered an espresso over ice and a breakfast sandwich with bacon and avocado, and I have to say, it was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. The espresso was perfectly brewed and had just the right amount of ice to cool it down without diluting the flavor. The breakfast sandwich was fresh, filling, and absolutely delicious. The bacon was crispy and the avocado was perfectly ripe - it was a perfect combination of flavors.
What really impressed me was the quality of the ingredients used in my meal. It was clear that everything was fresh and carefully selected to create a high-quality dish. The staff was also incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that my experience was nothing short of excellent.
Overall, I would highly recommend Mediterra Cafe to anyone looking for a great spot for breakfast or brunch. The food and service are outstanding, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I will definitely be...
