Isaly Co — Restaurant in Pittsburgh

A really nice spot in Northside to get a huge and affordable sandwich. The chicken salad sandwich is wildly delicious, was my favorite thing to order when I wanted a pick-me-up- but especially if you get the owners house-made seasoning on top. The staff there is always incredibly friendly. Unfortunately the Islays logo is painted over now. Its an essential Northside location you may not think to visit if you're just passing through or know nothing about the neighborhood you live in (I didn't because I barely left the house!) unless you realize by some miracle that it has the most amazing sandwiches... My friend told me about it on a walk once, and I went back several times to treat myself to a good meal while living in a bad situation. Seriously, get the owners house made seasoning on top, and buy a whole sandwich/give half to someone outside if you feel like it! The half and the whole are pretty much the same price, and who wouldn't want half an Islays. I never gave half away because I was embarrassed I ordered chicken salad, and often would trade half to my exboyfriend as a peace offering so that he wouldn't yell at me until I had to leave for work. I love you...

Isaly's is one of those small hole in the wall type shops with down to earth people working there.

I got two of their italian hoagies. Now at this particular time they did not have any more of the sliced ham for the hoagie, to which they apologized for and asked me if a substitution was okay. I said that was perfectly fine, and if i remember correctly they gave me 3 or 4 different choices. I ended up choosing the corned beef i believe it was

That's fantastic accommodation.
