This is an all day breakfast place, which I absolutely love because who doesn’t like eggs and bread for lunch. I ordered the chicken breakfast, which came with couple slices of grilled chicken breast, toasted bread, potatoes, and sauce of egg. I also got the hibiscus tea as my drink. This is quietly in the list of places that are known for unpretentious no nonsense food. The emphasis here lies on the simplicity and the quality of the food, and not on things like presentation or any other effort to make the food look fancy. The interiors are quite plain as well with emphasis on functionality rather than ambience. When I got my plate, my first thought was this is a lot of food. But then I was extremely hungry, and I was able to finish off the entirety. on some other day, I would definitely need to take home the leftovers. Everything was seasoned well and tasted great. The potatoes had flavour of Rosemary, which I absolutely loved. That Chicken was simply seasoned with salt and pepper, but it was extremely juicy and not dry at all, which is the case with most Chicken breast. They did, however, get my eggs order wrong. I had asked for eggs over easy and I got scrambled, but I did not really complain because I don’t mind scrambled either. Overall, it was a great meal. I was taken back by the key, however, because in my experience Hibiscus that I get from cafe are not sweetened, and that is how I like it, but this one was sweetened and actually was quite sweet. More sweet than I actually would have liked. Having said that it did not taste bad, so I finished off that as well. For the given price, the quantity of food was extremely generous, and I would definitely be back here for that...
Read moreDO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I usually do not leave reviews but I felt it necessary to share my experience. I recently moved to pittsburgh from DC. I walked about 15 mins to come to Le Petite because the reviews and menu suggested a great experience, It wasn’t.
I asked for a mocha with almond milk and no whip it took 15 mins to come to the table which is ok, but the person who took my order and made the mocha put whip on it. SMH. She offered to scoop the whip off and I was like don’t worry about it it’s a Sunday your the only person running around here it’s a harmless mistake. For the NEXT 60 MINS after the delivery of the mocha I WAITED on food that NEVER ARRIVED. Then the chef came out the kitchen to tell me that they didn’t have the egg whites I ordered and paid the additional $2 for. I told him regular eggs would NOT be ok because I am trying to watch my cholesterol and calories. He said ok then when back to the kitchen. 15 mins later the food came out. And of course it was all whole eggs that they tried to cover up with feta cheese to look like egg whites, SMH.
I was really excited to walk here get a QUICK bite to eat and enjoy the rest of my Sunday. Well that didn’t happen. I can not make up for the lost time sadly and since they make you pay first you feel stuck waiting.
There are other quicker places to have better affordable breakfast in Pittsburgh. I have been to a few of them and I eat out enough to know the difference between good service and terrible service.
Sadly, I won’t be back. I hope this helps the next person make a...
Read moreGet ready for an unhinged headache! An order was made online for food from this restaurant. I drove 30 minutes to come pick it up and when I approached the front desk, they said they didn’t get it and that they wouldn’t make it, “they’re busy” that it wasn’t their problem I expressed to them that I drove 30 minutes over here to come pick it up and how it could’ve wasted my time. The front desk person seemed to not care when I expressed this to her, asked her to please grab her Manager, she said ok. She went to the back and then the manager came out from the kitchen to the front desk, screaming at me, throwing fingers in my face, saying I was yelling at her staff member and I was being extremely rude to Her. It was completely out of pocket and uncalled for it caught me completely off guard, and this happened in front of customers. The woman who owns this restaurant seriously seems unhinged, and I am sorry to write this review but the way you treated me in there was completely out of pocket. I don’t know what your staff member said that I said to her I was obviously unpleased with the situation, but I was not rude with her, and I simply asked to speak to the manager. That’s all I did. I was very polite. I even said please, and you came out screaming at me completely unbecoming of a business owner. I wonder if this...
