Lin's is a couple of blocks from my home so the location is very convenient. I have eaten there several times in the past but have never been overly impressed (positively or negatively) with their food but tonight my opinion changed.
My friend and I placed a carry-out order and had a pleasant interaction with the hostess when picking it up. When we arrived home, however, we realized that none of the order was correct. We noticed the name on the receipt was correct but the phone number was not and concluded that it was an honest mistake (the price was very similar too). We returned to Lin's with the food and explained that it was not what we ordered. They confirmed that there were two orders with similar names and went to get our food.
The folks who had ordered the food we were given were also waiting. To our surprise, the worker took the food we brought back and simply HANDED IT TO THE OTHER CUSTOMER! (Keep in mind we carried this food home, unpacked it, repacked it and returned it to the restaurant!) They were charged the full amount for that food.
Our order came out quickly and the hostess stated the amount due ($1 or so more than what we were originally charged). She proceeded to refund our previous charge and then collected the full charge for our food. It was frustrating to wait for our credit card to be refunded only to be recharged considering the hassle of returning the food, but we thought "whatever."
The order was now correct, but notably cold. There was also no side of sauce provided with the crab rangoon. I ran back to the restaurant to ask for a side of sauce and the hostess explained that crab rangoon was only served with sauce when dining in. I said I would like a side of sweet-and-sour sauce and she said it was $2. I was annoyed but was willing to pay it. I handed her $2 to which she said it is $2.12 with tax. I only had $2 in cash so I pulled out my credit card to which she replied: we have a minimum charge on credit cards. At this point, I was very annoyed and asked for some consideration restating the fact that we had just returned an erroneous order. She replied "I'm sorry."
I will not be returning to Lin's Asian fusion any time in the near future. The service tonight was less than considerate, seemingly petty, and the food was mediocre at best. I encourage everyone to consider other options...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreTaking the food home right now - I have high hopes for the quality, but let me address the service. Your Millennial workers need to learn a lesson about customer service. When someone pays $50 for take out, there should not be any attitude, requests should be completed as agreed upon, and one of the main dishes should not be missing from the order. When the sauces requested at the time of order and one of the main dishes is missing, there should be some kind of apology or offer of correction other than poor attitude and smart remarks. Maybe offer to throw in the missing sauces for free instead of saying those missing sauces will be some additional charge. Imagine if your main $25 dish was never brought out at a restaurant and when you calmly point that fact out, some 20 something gives you an attitude as if you made the mistake. I will never request delivery from here again (will always pick it up) and I suggest some customer service training for the customer-facing group...
