Cheap and filling food at very reasonable prices! The quality isn't as high as some other local Mexican restaurants, but it's a great deal. I ordered the teas leches, churros, bean with cheese burrito, and shredded beef burrito.
The portions are excellent for the burritos! They are much heavier than they look and they are filled to the brim. The meat in the shredded beef burrito was pretty flavorful and didn't have too much fat. It came with a good amount of different vegetables inside as well. There were onions, tomatoes, peppers, and more for no extra charge. There is also a lot rice in the burrito and surprisingly, there is also cheese in the burrito. The rice was creamy and delicious! The tortilla is on the thicker side, though.
The bean and cheese burrito was pretty good, too. The beans tasted earthy, but creamy as well. Plenty of cheese inside. My order came with a feta-like white cheese called cojita in a small container (it was for the meat burrito, but I used it for both). Large portion of spicy tomatoey sauce.
Both desserts were fine. I wasn't blown away, but they were both cheap and tasty. Tres leches came with a strawberry and it was cream. There was also whipped cream on top. Churros are large. There's not a lot of sauce on them, though, but the texture is on point.
Overall, I was more than satisfied with this visit. Awesome portions and prices! Flavor is there, too. I'd recommend if you want a cheap and filling...
Read moreI was seated as soon as I entered the restaurant, and was given the usual chips and salsa. Asked for ice tea, 15 minutes later the waitress brings me 2 tall cans of Arizona sweet tea. 25 minutes later she brings me my Chicken fajita plate. I didn't get my sour cream or any guacamole that I asked for when I had made my order. When the waitress came by a few minutes later, I asked her about my sour cream and guacamole .. She said it's on your plate, as she walked back into the kitchen. Never to be seen again until I walked around to the front to pay my bill. Never did get my sour cream or guacamole, and I paid over 2 times of the .99 that was stamped on the side of that Arizona sweet tea can. Also other than me, there was only 3 other people in the restaurant a single and a couple. The service was horrible and the food was way over cooked. I think the over cooked food was part because everyone in the kitchen was to busy talking on their cellphone the whole time I was there. If you find yourself in this neighborhood looking for something to eat, go across the street, get a slice or 2 of pizza and a cold beer. You can...
Read moreAfter a long day I was craving some Mexican food. I’m not from Pittsburgh so I googled a couple places, this place had a lot of nice reviews so I decided to go try it out. First thing I noticed was the establishment is small and cramped. U have to squeeze your way through the dining area to your seat. The waitress doesn’t seat you either . The chips and salsa were stale & bland . I ordered a sprite as my drink and was surprised when they handed me a 12oz can of sprite with a straw. I ended up ordering a chimichanga burrito & a side of rice and beans and was utterly disappointed when my food was brought out to me. The beans were watery, the rice was bland , they threw wet lettuce on my plate with no dressing or vinaigrette I don’t know why that was even on the plate. My burrito was bland. I didn’t even finish my meal. The only positive thing I can say was the guacamole WASNT SO bad :) would not give this place...
