I had been going to this restaurant for over a year 1-3 times a week. I caught the bartender adding things to my bill over some time and confronted him multiple times about it. He made the appropriate adjustments and has since been fired for that exact reason according to staff. I approached the manager, Nicole, about it and told her my concerns about times that I had possibly not checked my bill and she said nothing more than, “well he no longer works here.” She seemed annoyed I brought it up. Considering how much money spent there and how many people I had brought in, some free chips and guacamole would’ve been nice and I would’ve been satisfied. Even just feeling heard and considered...The staff made their drinks in a variety concerning levels of liquor. I once caught Bill way over pouring the liquor into my drink. So the next time I came in I watched him as he made my drink. It was over half full of liquor I’m guessing 3-4 shots... told him I would not drink and had him make me a drink by measuring out a shot. There needs to be serious training done at bar staff. Especially because many of them drink from the beer tap often. Every drink by every bartender should be made the same. Measure out your shots before someone gets hurt trying to drive home after a drink. I will never be coming back....

I was there twice this week. On Sunday night our server was nice but the service incredibly slow. The had a special that included the brownie dessert but they were out. So we had the churros. It got it with 2 scoops of ice cream.

I went today and had a waitress with such attitude and when I was sharing with her what happened to our credit card created a scene at our table saying I was accusing her of something. If that was not bad enough...when I was talking with the manager at the front the waitress gathers people around and creates another scene. It was surreal.

We got off on a bad foot when I ordered the churro with ice cream again and she told me it doesn't come with ice cream. I told I got it Sunday. She became argumentative and the said "you can order ice cream with it" and I said that it was I thought I had been doing.

I was trying to sound a safety note to these restaurants that make you pay through your server. It isn't a good system for either the customer or the server. We had someone take a picture of our card at a restaurant and sell it and a counterfeit was made and used. I think restaurants need to rethink it and the employees may want to voice that. No accusation...more like a PSA. I have never had a reaction like this...

Ugh. I don’t know what happened, but the experience there today wasn’t good at all. We’ve been going to this location since it opened and have NEVER had an issue. Today tho... yikes. First off, the floor was so gross and covered in crumbs and paper and food. Second, they have glasses for water on the tables now and bring a carafe of water out. The glasses on the table had lipstick prints on them so we didn’t even touch them. They were all dirty looking. When I got my drink I ordered it wasn’t at all what I asked for ( a mint lemonade margarita on the rocks) it was flavorless and tasted like water with mint. The food came out, underwhelming. My salad had two cherry tomatoes cut in half and 2 rings of onions. The fish was cold and the alfalfa sprouts were literally bad. They were wet and mushy underneath and rotting. The kids Mac and cheese even tasted different and it’s usually good. They usually bring out carrots and celery with the kids meals and didn’t even offer it this time. Not sure what the deal was with everything but it was a HUGE let down for a place we usually enjoy. Don’t know if we’ll be going back to that location again. I doubt it. And if the other ones are like this we won’t be going to Mad Mex...

I usually only have positive things to say about Mad Mex Waterworks but this time I was disappointed. We visited late on Saturday, June 3rd. Earlier in the evening, the restaurant must have been slammed. You could tell that the staff was recovering from a tough shift. However, that doesn't excuse subpar service. First, the table beside us (two women with two kids) were clearly over served. It was obvious. Their table was a mess and they downed shots before stumbling out. But before they left one of the women crowded our table and chatted us up. I didn't really mind her but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned over whether they were driving home or not. As I said, they were visibly and obviously over served drinks. Our waitress was miserable. Short, rude, unwelcoming and she rushed us through our meal. I could hear her sighing and muttering to herself while she cleaned tables off around us. Our food and drinks were not the usual quality that Mad Mex delivers. I definitely do not suggest visiting late. If it is so difficult to maintain service and quality as the evening goes on then maybe management should just close earlier like other restaurants in the area.

The food was extremely mediochre. I got chips with three choices of dips. The queso was too watery. The salsa did not taste sweet, salty, or spicy. It was very boring and bland. The guacamole unfortunately had the same result. I lowkey wish I had gone to the Chipotle next door because their food would've tasted better at a far better price. The chips and dips were 14, the skinny marg was 12, and the buffalo chicken tacos were 16. The tacos came with beans and rice. They were oddly messy because of the odd shape of the chicken tenders. I wish they had cut the chicken up. The crust was good and the chicken itself was tender. The pickle in the tacos was giving more chikfila than mexican. It threw me off and I wasn't interested in eating more than half a taco. The skinny marg was sour and packed a punch so be prepared if you get it. My meal was $50.

We are from our of the area, but have eaten at the North Hills location over the years. We are visiting family, and last year they had the Gobblerita which they were excited returned this fall. It's basically a Thanksgiving dinner in a flour tortilla, covered in gravy. They were happy with their meals but think it may not have been quite as good as last year. I am a lover of Poutine and saw they had it on their seasonal menu. It was decent enough, but they should call it faux poutine as it's a loose impersonation of Poutine. In fairness, it was tasty and I did enjoy it. The service was a bit slow, especially as the restaurant was fairly quiet when we were there. Overall a good lunch for a fair price.
