Quik-It Chicken, located on the Northside of PGH, is truly a hidden culinary treasure! This spot exemplifies the saying "not to judge a book by its cover!" While the front area of the store appears a bit worn down and in need of a deep clean, it is absolutely worth the visit! The kitchen, however, was clean and well-organized. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, which were lower than I had anticipated! The customer service felt like a warm family gathering for Sunday dinner! The owner expressed his gratitude for the patronage and our appreciation of his craft! The young man who took our order was both polite and welcoming! Now, let's talk about the food—it was simply delicious! The wings were seasoned just right and fried to a perfect crisp! The ribs were juicy and packed with flavor! There was a wide variety of side dishes available, with the tomato and zucchini and the yams/apples being my personal favorites. To top it all off, the sweet potato or apple pie desserts were a delightful way to conclude our meal!

Where do I start with this... The service was wonderful. The gentleman was very polite very hospitable. He insisted I have the cornbread LOL I don't like cornbread. He changed my mind. His cornbread was delicious almost a touch of sweetness to it very very good. The macaroni and cheese that came on the side was good. The chicken was very very soft really good just a bit salty for my taste though Nonetheless it was still really good The only downfall to this experience that I had today was the inside of the dining area could be A little bit cleaner. Other than that the food was wonderful, the gentleman was wonderful, the service was wonderful....👍

I order chicken and waffles from this restaurant I did not receive my order correct and the food was burnt call to speak to someone concerning my order and the gentleman who just began to laugh. I didn’t find anything funny about it especially since I pay my money will not be ordering from this restaurant ever again horrible customer service and bad food.

Where do I start because I'm tossing and turning with this on my mind. 🤡 Mr. Quik Its' customer service is absolutely disturbing! THE PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! & The chicken especially but overall food not even cooked right! Why haven't the health department close them down already!? I'll be calling them early Monday and suggest you do too! He needs reported!

I don't think the owner understands the fact the only thing saving his business is that gas station and the people are only ordering food from him is out of desperation. Ive been there a handful of times OUT Of DESPERATION and will never go back even if my life depended on it.

The owner is so quick to brag about how he had so many restaurants in many different locations on different sides of town including PNC Park. That isn't even around anymore. & I can see why!

Thank you Eastside(very smart people) for kicking him out!

** MY EXPERIENCE: My first time ordering. I didn't want to because the atmosphere isn't pleasant. But because there isn't anything other establishments around and decided why not give it a try. I got the cornbread muffins, stuffing & Mac n cheese. It was him and a couple ladies at the time. It was actually good.

I went back a few months later because I'm a resident of the East side and tried a couple pieces of chicken and the same sides. As a driver for the whole city. I was close & I stopped passed to express my experience with the food. First thing he said was I was wrong and I didn't know what I was talking about. Proceeded to talk over me and just dismissed what I said about how there was two different recipes Ive tasted and liked it the first time the lady made it. (I was asking questions about who made the food that's how I know).

Then when you get the food there is all types of pieces of food from the previous batch on the muffins. There was green shxx at the bottom of my muffins. I wish I could of took a picture. I just threw the shxx away. The chicken is kind of slimy like the skin of the chicken slides off when you bite it. That is the worst kind of chicken ever!!

I asked to use the restroom one time and man. How piss poor is the management to not have it the way it was? 🫧 It's not safe. I couldn't even use it. It was horrible. Terrifying to see a restaurant restroom like that. It was worse than an outhouse. Targets restroom is cleaner than theirs and they don't even have that many customers 🤣 that was back in 2018.

Fast forward. 2024 I have the same experience 5 years later without the women. I'm not sure if they still work there or because I came in @ 11 am I got his quickly made food. And since, the place hasn't changed.

So you can tell he ain't getting any money because he claimed to had opened and build that place in 94' but haven't done anything to keep it clean and comfortable for it's guest. No upgrades to the burned up kitchen walls, restroom is very eew, and FOOD.

OVERALL SCORE IS: F

And I'm pretty sure that ice machine 🧊 is filthy too. Just imagine 🤢

STAY SAFE...

I had trouble ordering Pick-Up at Quik-It Chicken through the EastStreet online app, to which this restaurant subscribes. I ordered the 10-piece meal deal ($17.99 + 1 chicken breast addon $1) for pick-up. Eaststreet sent a message that the order confirmation was not sent back by the restaurant. The Quik-It Chicken clerk upon my arrival told me that the app menu prices were out of date and she should charge $3 more. She told me, the patron, of this difference in menu price in the app,. I paid through the app in advance for this purchase.. I don't update the app for this business. I did not do anything improperly in the purchase through the app. Quik-It Chicken contracted this business and this app. Then she told me the EastStreet menu was already updated. Again, she repeated, I should be paying $3 more. The clerk gave me a break, she said. She fulfilled the prepaid order, but did not include the purchased extra chicken breast. The clerk was brusque. The clerk blamed me, in my perception, as the customer. She also mis-filled the order, and was rude doing it. ALSO, neither the clerk or a patron waiting in line wore a mask or gloves, though Pennsylvania requires a mask now on everyone in public. Food servers SHOULD ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES WHILE HANDLING PREPARED FOOD, BUT ESPECIALLY DURING THIS PANDEMIC! This was a fiasco. I will no t use your app or this restaurant, to which I can walk in my neighborhood. No thanks to bad management and service! I DON'T ADVISE THIS RESTAURANT...

I like the idea of this place, non-chain fried chicken which I'd love to support. However, food and service was lacking. Was fairly busy and single employee could not keep up with demand, though he was trying. Prices were fair and reasonable (if the food was better). The fried chicken wasn't crisp enough, and a tad soggy. The chicken tenders were absolutely horrible - very greasy, oil was not hot enough when they were cooked so it soaked up way too much fryer grease. My daughter wouldn't eat them and I was about to tell her she was too picky until I tried one - ack - seriously borderline inedible. Green beans were bland/unseasoned. The chili was pretty good though kind of weird. The fries are listed all over the menu as handcut, including the pictures, but they are just steak fries you'd get out of the freezer section, definitely not handcut/homemade. A couple of the menu selections were listed as coming with a pound of fries. Nowhere near a pound of fries came with them. Now the one saving grace of this place is the cornbread. OMG - the best cornbread I've ever had in my life without a doubt. We even went back up to get some to take...
