On Friday, March 14, 2025, I had the pleasure of visiting The Urban Tap for dinner with a group of friends. This was my first time dining here, and it certainly left a great impression! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was lively and inviting. The restaurant was buzzing with customers, and the bar area was well-equipped with several large-screen TVs for sports enthusiasts. Despite the crowd, we had a great dining experience. Now, onto the food—absolutely delicious! Every dish served to our group was well-prepared, flavorful, and generously portioned. Some of us even had leftovers to take home. It was evident that the chefs put great care into each meal, ensuring a satisfying experience for everyone. Parking near Carson Street can be tricky, but we were lucky to find a spot on our first go-around. Just a note for future visitors—The Urban Tap does have a dedicated parking lot, but you do have to pay to use it, even after 6 PM. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu. If you’re looking for a spot with great food, a vibrant atmosphere, and a solid selection of drinks, The Urban Tap is worth a visit! Here's a breakdown of what was ordered: 1. Fish Tacos ($16.50) 2. Tuna Tartare Dish ( Tuna & Crispy Rice - $18) 3. Shrimp & Grits ($22) 4. Classic Tap Burger ($15) 6Bacon Onion Jam Burger ($19.50) 5. Burrata Pesto Pasta ($26) 6. Brussels Sprouts ($5 - Side / $14 - Fried Appetizer). 7.Wings ($18) A plate of chicken wings with celery and carrots is also visible. 8. St. Paddy’s Day Specials - The Reuben Mac ($18) and Guinness Pub Burger ($18) The food looks delicious, well-plated, and generously portioned. From classic pub favorites like burgers and fries to more refined options like tuna tartare and pesto pasta, the variety on the menu ensures something for everyone. The drink menu is also extensive, featuring classic cocktails, specialty drinks, and themed St. Paddy’s beverages.

On a scale of romances to documentaries, The Urban Tap is a modern romance. We arrived at 11 am for the Saturday and Sunday brunch, and with just two of us, we were able to be immediately seated. It was clear that they were busy, but the team was great about taking care of us. The brunch menu boasted a list of fabulous items so we opted to order three entrees: Chicken on a Biscuit, Sweet Waffle Board, and the Cajun Shrimp & Avocado Benedict. I also ordered two Valentine's Day cocktails: Love Potion and Cupid's Cocktail. Beautifully arranged and an amazing blend of flavors, we could barely discern a favorite dish as we loved them all. While The Urban Tap definitely feels like a bar (dark lighting), the brunch was absolutely magical, and I highly recommend! Pro Tips: park around the block on a side street where you don't have to pay for parking & take a walk after brunch

We were supposed to go somewhere else but the wait was too long. My friend called here and they were able to sit us right away. Coming with 5 kids and 3 adults we didn't know what to expect. The place was definitely not for kids , hence the no kids menus but we made it work since we were short on time. Our waiter was really nice. The food is definitely adult portions but really good. I got the chicken and waffles, I was happy to get the toppings on the side because I wasn't a big fan of the syrup and the coleslaw but the actual chicken and waffles were delicious. I would say the potatoes were the best part (I ordered a side dish). They were more seasoned than the potatoes. The other adults and kids enjoyed their food as well, of course we had to get to go boxes for the kids. Next time I come back I'm brining my husband so we can get the full experience.

Let me tell y’all, this place makes me wanna drink all day long. I came here with my friends for lunch and I started with the Espresso Martini *chefs kiss* this place has one of my favs. I followed up with the Chai Appletini and l knew it was gonna be good but I didn’t know how good this drink was gonna be, I have found a new favorite drink as of Saturday. We had several different meals but I will highlight the fried Brussels sprouts first as they turned our friend who “absolutely hates” Brussels sprouts into a Brussels lover lol. My meal was the Burrata Pesto Pasta and IT WAS SO GOOD, I love pesto, love burratta, love pasta there is no regrets ordering this. Let’s just say all of my friends wished they ordered the same plate as me. The staff was also very fun and attentive, also appreciated the playlist that was on Saturday, the vibes were immaculate!

Vitiating Pittsburgh for the week (mid September), and this was first place we stopped to eat after the airport. Chill vibes, great food, and excellent happy hour options. To drink we had the Spiced pear margarita $12.00 usually, $7 during Happy hour, on tap we had Bell’s Oberon (Belgian/wheat), normally $6.50, but $3.25 during happy hour (heads up- almost an IPA but delightfully not), and 3 Floyd’s gumball, regularly $7, $3.50 during happy hour. For food we had: Bacon onion jam burger $18.50, very sweet but so good General Tso Cauliflower $13.25 - huge shareable portion, was not expecting all that flavor, forgot i was eating cauliflower 🫡 Shrimp and grits, lots of great flavors that compliment each other, southern feel with Pittsburgh love

Went to brunch with a friend & was not at all disappointed! The ambience was comfortable & cozy complete with dim lighting & antique light fixtures! Reminded me of a old fashioned speak easy. The bar is beautiful with a hint of modern distillery. The staff was very welcoming & friendly & the food was outstanding! I ordered the Avocado Toast complete with tomatoes, sunny side up egg, whole grain bread, arugula, balsamic glaze, prosciutto, & of course avocado spread! I also had a mimosa that was delightfully refreshing! I can't recommend this place enough, great service, excellent food, cozy ambiance, & delicious drinks! This will be one of your favorite brunch spots!
