BEWARE--AS YOU MIGHT BE ILLEGALLY RECORDED HERE.
So sad to be leaving this review.
My friends and I always come here and it was one of our favorite places to hang out and unwind. However, the other night, two friends and I decided to spend our time there during the last 30 minutes they were open. We go to pay and my friend jokingly says "I heard we get 50% off for wearing costumes" being that all 3 of us were dressed up. We laugh it off and the employee said no and had apparently taken it seriously even though my friend immediately said it was a joke and the three of us were laughing. My friends apologized then the employee proceeded to try to KICK HIM OUT. Without refusing, he apologized again profusely and said he meant no harm, but the employee kept repeating "You need to leave right now." My friend offered to pay for just the two of us to go in but obviously we didn't wanna go without him. My friend had already taken out the money for the two of us and was going to pay but we just wanted leave due to the ridiculous treatment. We start to walk out in disbelief so my friend instead goes to leave the money as a tip. They ACCEPT the tip and we just leave after that. Later on, my friend goes back again to try to make amends and understand what he did wrong, completely peaceful, harmless, and just genuinely curious. The employee proceeds to RECORD HIM WITHOUT CONSENT (THIS IS ILLEGAL) even after he specified he did not give consent. Unbelievable and highly unprofessional. Please learn how to treat a loyal customer, as you just lost at least 6 of them and are lucky we did not involve...
Read moreI come mostly for my weekly D&D Encounters fix (contrary to what some might assume from the name, it is not a very specialized adult dating service). Having said that, they have a pretty impressive espresso bar and ice cream parlor (cones, shakes, sundaes and banana splits) with both standard and exotic flavors.
If you're more of a console or arcade gamer, they again have you covered with many classic and modern offerings; a popular option seems to be the $10 unlimited play option, which seems like a good way to kill an afternoon with your 11 year-old (those younger than 13 need an adult present).
My only real complaint here is that they downsized their menu, having eliminated any/all fresh hot offerings, which included burgers, wings (with some interesting flavors) and house-made potato chips. When I first visited, I chatted with the owner over wings and chips and he was a bit disgruntled that, unlike similar venues in other cities (or Dave & Buster's across the river but in a different township) he couldn't get a liquor license for a venue that featured "gaming"; apparently someone Downtown doesn't understand that slot machines are...
Read moreWent here on my birthday, and with my family. The place is divided into two floors, a downstairs with several dozen video games, pinball machines, and an eating area. The upstairs is divided into two rooms, one for VR gaming, and the other for table top, miniatures, board and console gaming. We loved it here! For $50, four people could play any of the above games as much as they wanted all day. No tokens, no nickel and diming, just honest extensive fun. Additionally, we enjoyed a full dinner (burger, fries, wings, shakes, etc). Upstairs they had library overflowing with a huge selection of games, including all the regulars you would expect, but also games like X-Wing, Armada, Card Games, etc. I think this place is a gem in...
