Maybe I just came on a bad day but I ordered two gai yangs , came to pick it up and the place is super cute. Thought about giving this place a shot since there is not a lot of options in pittston, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Something was making the plates smell like dirty old socks/sweat it was horrible. Can’t tell if it was the seasonings or if it was coming from the papaya salad. We also waited 30 minutes like they asked and we arrived on time and the food was already cold. My husbands rice managed to be overcooked and undercooked at the same time. I’ve had Thai food before and the best place I’ve been too is In grand central market in Los Angeles Called Sticky Rice. Anyways I don’t like giving bad reviews (if anything I came here cause of the great reviews) but for the price of the food Id rather not come back. I left a tip as well to be kind, don’t regret that but definitely regret making the choice to eat here today. My curiosity about this place is no longer, and definitely dissatisfied. Also to the other reviewer who pointed out my review. Just cause you had a good plate that day doesn’t mean we did especially if you’re leaving a review after mine. I’ve had plenty of Thai food and I won’t sugar coat that it wasn’t good that day. My rating changed based on the owners pleasant response, I still think they’re awesome. But I still stand by my opinion on the food for that day. 🤷🏽♀️
Edit: I decided to give 5 stars instead of me the original 1 star for the kind response from the owner even though I stand by what I said about the food. Also no need for a refund seeing as how I still ate out of hunger. (But they still gave me a refund today which is very kind they didn’t have to do that) I had a feeling it was the fish sauce hence why I mentioned the Papaya salad. There is always room for improvement, so again 4 stars for the service they give. They are a small business so give them a chances. take care. best wishes...
Read moreI have eaten Thai food all over this country at high end resort towns and run of the mill take out places. I have been cooking it myself for over 25 years so I know what I'm talking about.
This place gives you a quart size container 2/3 full of water and some coconut milk with only 1/3 actual food. I gave it another try tonight and explained to the lady that it doesn't say on the menu that water is the main ingredient and I don't want to pay for it. It took me 30 minutes to boil the green Curry sauce down on Friday night to the correct consistency. So tonight I ordered Yellow Curry Chicken and asked for it to be less watery and more of the coconut milk paste as it should be.
She argued with me about it, said people like the sauce to pour over the rice, I said that's not how its supposed to be made.. Then I waited for 40 minutes in the lobby for it to be done. Finally I had to bang on the window, the take out door and eventually ringing the chimes on the door violently to get her attention and find out where my food was. It was sitting on the counter for 20 minutes and so it wasn't hot anymore. She gave it to me for free and I said I will never eat there again.
Came home and again 1/3 food and 2/3 sauce (a lot thicker this time) but still super small portion. Tasty but still the worst portion size I have ever received and way too much sauc again.
Don't waste your time, go to Wilkes-Barre and eat at Thai Thai where they know how to make Thai food and give you great portion sizes without a...
Read moreIt was my family and myself first time there. After my family and I finished and left, I called there for a Manager to speak on how good was. It was him over the phone and he said to me, no thank you and hung up on me before I could properly introduce myself. I called back and I asked for him again saying, I was trying to tell you something about my family and my first time being there, but you hung up on me. Then you said, No Thank You as if I was asking or offering you something. He says to me, I know, but we are in a dinner rush. I don't have time to take calls right now. I said to him, I understand that, but you didn't even give me the chance to say I can call back at a later time and/or day. Where you assumed whatever was in your mind to say yo me, No Thank You to where you hung up on me. So everytime guests call to place an order this is how you treat them over the phone when it's rush hour? He says to me; alright, what do you want? I said to him, forget it, now I'll just contact your General Manager. I'll be expressing things to him or her in which I primarily called for since it's so busy for you to talk about my concerns. Also, I will be letting him or her know you were very unprofessional and rude to me over the phone. Then so, I hung up on him as he did to me. I will never step one foot in that...
