Subject: Concern About Food Safety Practices at Chipotle – Johnstown, New Albany, OH
Dear Chipotle Team,
I’d like to bring to your attention a concerning experience I had at your Johnstown location in New Albany, OH, on the evening of August 30th around 9:15 PM.
Although the store was scheduled to close at 11:00 PM, we noticed that the team had already begun closing procedures—chairs were placed on tables, and food prep areas were actively being cleaned with chemicals. While ordering, we saw that the food service area had cleaning liquids present, and during the preparation of our burritos, the food came into contact with surfaces that had been recently cleaned with these substances.
This raised serious concerns for us about the hygiene and safety of the food being served. We politely asked for a remake to ensure proper food handling, but the situation left us feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed.
This experience did not meet the standards we expect from Chipotle, and unfortunately, we’ve decided not to return to this location. I hope this feedback helps improve operational and food safety practices, particularly during hours when customers are still...
Read moreEverybody has a beef about the size variability of portions at Chipotle. I don't begrudge the size of a bowl no longer even coming up to the rim full of stuff. My beef, particularly with my recent experience with this location, is in fact virtually non-existent. Literally. When I opened the lid on my brisket bowl I had to taste 3 bites before I was convinced there was any brisket in there at all. Considering this was a premium item I expected similar amounts of protein as I would have expected for carnitas, chicken, etc--because I paid the premium for it. I don't know if it was because it was late or it was standard to only put such a modest amount of brisket in each bowl, but I felt significantly shorted even for an average Chipotle experience. The limeade was very much lime water. Tortilla chips were stale. The only highlight was the guacamole was still good, despite having mediocre vehicles for delivery. I'm not sure if it's just this Chipotle or all locations on average now, but this was not a good value. A lot of money to spend for...
Read moreIf your dinner plans are to be trapped in a chipotle drive thru then this is the venue for you! Just place your order and prepare to wait 40 minutes for your food with no escape between two concreted curbs. Meanwhile the people in front of you may ask everyone to back out so they can escape before they run out of gas. Keep In mind you can’t even park and go inside for pick up.. so don’t try they lock the doors early (7pm ish) If this place was not equipped to open, management should not have put these employees in such a tight stressful spot.. and the curbs/ drive thru entry is awful- people need be able to escape.. The one young man rocking it at the drive through, Steven, deserves credit for his hard work and service with a smile; despite everything being completely overwhelming. Steven deserves 5 stars for service. Chipotle should promote him, and work to help this location thrive. I picked up food for family, so I have no comment on the meal. Itself. Just poor flow during the...
