Just my personal experience. Regular Aldi shopper whom usually goes to the Gahanna/Columbus location. This store was much larger and so clean and organized, likely because it is new. I went up to the regular checkout and not self check out, because of the $5 off $30 coupon. I said “hello, how are you today?” to Sydney. She acted bothered and gave no response. She rang me up and proceeded to try and pile my entire large order in the small area at the front of the shopping cart. I asked her to please stop and use the main area. She said well I need the cart I have another customer. Mind you this was all during the transaction, I was the customer at that moment and for another 15min due to a system issue for the coupon. So I should be the only one concerned about. I said I have reusable bags right here we can put the food in those. She started doing so and was putting heavy items such as jarred Sweet Gherkins on top of my Portabella Mushrooms. I asked her to please stop as she was crushing my fresh goods. She rolled her eyes and again acted bothered. Then Sydney grabbed her cell phone and checked the time. As she finished ringing I gave her the coupon and then it didn’t work. I made her aware and she rolled her eyes again and let out a bothered sigh. She then proceeded to calculate the items on the receipt on her phone to come to the same total it showed on the receipt and showed charged to my card. No apology for any time it was taking up or that the coupon would not work. She then went over to the manager after yelling across the store to him. Sydney came back and returned the $5.48 in change to me in cash. I said thank you and proceeded to leave. As I took my second step she made a remark under her breath. As a grown adult with sales and customer service experience I did not respond. I can tell you my experience was not worth the $5 savings or attitude and rudeness I encountered by Sydney.I will not be back and will return to my reliable and friendly location in...
Read moreGenerally I really enjoy shopping at Aldi's. The cashiers are extremely nice and very efficient at checkout. This New Albany store however is very disappointing. Entering the parking area is inconvenient because you must go all the way around the lot to get in. I've found items are often marked higher than at other Aldi's. There is an older guy at checkout I've found to be very rude several times. Probably the same guy someone else commented on here as being rude. Consequently I no longer shop at this location.
I much prefer the Aldi's on route three. Lower prices and very helpful staff. A little further to go for me but worth it. There is an older Latino lady often working the cash register that should be employee of the year for the company. So super nice. I watched her as she was preparing to leave at the end of her shift around Christmas time help an elderly lady unload her cart at the register. Way above the call of duty! She really touched my...
Read moreAfter visiting the New Albany Aldi and reading the reviews here my dreams of a higher end grocer coming to New Albany are never gonna happen.
No Weiland's, no Hills, no Dorothy Lane Market.....nope. Ain't gonna happen in New Albany.
People don't value high quality food or standards. Based on the busy crowd at Aldi.....pre packaged junk sold cheaply wins.
If Aldi is the future, I'm out and the future sucks.
All packaged food. If you can't afford fresh food or higher quality food.....here.....buy packaged junk. Nothing fun about shopping here. Cold atmosphere. Put a quarter in the shopping cart. Stupid.
Aldi is an example of corporate coldness throwing cattle slop on the shelves for the sheep to buy.
Only clean aisles keep Aldi above Dollar General.
Dollar General cheap quality, a cold & weird store vibe, and I'll pass.
I value good food too much to ever again...
