This is hands down the best poke I've had in GR. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because their menu on their website isn't accurate anymore (multiple discontinued items) and they're a skimpier on the fish than their competitors. The flavor, however, is to die for.
Update for the owner reply: thank you for the time you took to respond. We perused the pdf menu on your website before online ordering for take out and ended up calling because both of the items we'd planned to order weren't available for online ordering. The very friendly employee who answered the phone informed me that the yellowtail, along with other items (I honestly don't remember because I had no intention of ordering those items) had been discontinued because of waste, which I completely understand from a business standpoint. My date had planned to order udon noodles and the california roll which was also on the pdf but not available for online ordering. We were told to only go off what was available via online ordering, not the menu on your website because it wasn't accurate.
I understand your frustration that multiple people in their reviews reference your prices. You'll notice I didn't mention price because I believe it is fair to pay more for a higher quality product. I do not necessarily agree with higher quality and lower quantity at an increased price. Perhaps it was because it was takeout and not in store. Maybe it was a fluke. When I say your restaurant has the best poke I've had in GR I meant that genuinely as someone who has poke 2-3x/week from as many different establishments as I can. I'm certain of my assessment of quantity. I do plan to try different items in your restaurant and maybe I'll find it was a fluke, in which case I promise you I will update my review. Your food is five stars, as was my experience with your employees and takeout procedures; my feedback was only for the peripherals. I appreciate your passion...
Read moreReading over other reviews, I would like to opine on a couple comments about pricing. Many people expect Asian food to be cheap. Some of it is, and truth be told it's because the cheapest ingredients are being used for those restaurants. Not to mention the bare minimum amount of staff, or often times family members working for free. So yeah, it's gonna be cheap. And quality? You get what you pay for. Poke Toki uses fresh ingredients that are high in quality. Also, many of the ingredients used are ones that can't be sourced anywhere close to here. That ticks up costs as well. I don't understand how people are fine with paying 15 dollars for a sushi roll in a Japanese restaurant but gripe about paying that much for a big bowl of food that consists of the same ingredients, but even more of those ingredients! Anyway, the food here is delicious and authentic, and the plethora of customization is fantastic. The service is...
Read moreWhat an awesome place to go to! This was our first time here and they were so kind and friendly and SUPER HELPFUL to us, knowing it was our first experience. You can get a signature bowl or you can build your own bowl. You go from one section to the next with a Pick amount and can add as much or as little as you'd like. We both built our own bowls and it was so fun to do! The two guys were helpful in getting the flavor combinations just right and our bowls turned out delicious and custom made to our liking! All of the ingredients looked and tasted very fresh and I couldn't have been happier with the food. I love Poke and I was very impressed by this place - I cannot wait to go back again and again! By the way, you even get this luxurious wet wipe towel to use when you are done eating! bonus! For those non-chopstick people out there... they give you a big paddle spoon to eat your poke -...
