Ate here on a Saturday at noon. First visit for us, was recommended by a friend. Restaurant just 1/3 full. So not busy. Sat ourselves as expected and then sat for 7 minutes with neither of the 2 waitresses stopping to greet us. They passed by us several times however checking up on others and bringing food out. Had our menus open in front of us. Finally one stopped and took our drink order and as she tried to break away from us, we had her take our food order too. She seemed annoyed to do so. Not a good start. Food came quick, was hot. Again, place wasn't busy. Wife had scrambled eggs and hash browns with onions. Eggs were great, fluffy. Hash browns were just reconstituted dehydrated potatoes and the cook just tossed some grilled onions on top. Didn't cook them together. Boring. Sour dough bread was good as was the coffee. I ordered the corned beef Reuben sammie with fries. When delivered to our table I asked for additional napkins and a side of thousand island dressing, neither came. Fries were fine, cooked crispy. The Reuben was blah and on the small side. The meat was great, shaved thin and tasty. Sauerkraut was too wet and made the bread soggy. Cheese had zero flavor. Thousand island dressing also nearly tasteless. A mess of a sandwich and no extra napkins to deal with that. Waitress never came back to check on us or bring the requested items. Nor did she or the other waitress stop by to give the wife a 2nd cup of coffee. Even though they were out with the coffee pot taking care if others. Wife holding up her mug failed to get their attention. ☹️ So we finished and sat there for about 5 minutes when our waitress finally stopped by to check on us. Without a coffee pot. She asked if she wanted more coffee but wife told her, "Nope, too late,". I told her about never getting my dressing or napkins and she stated, "I stepped out for a few minutes, I told the other waitress to take care of that."😑 Fail... Not taking responsibility. So we sat for another 3 minutes, even though we had our check for a while, because there was a line at the register. The register lady was MIA for at least 10 minutes and there was 4 people waiting to pay and go. They didn't look happy waiting. We paid, no tip. Won't return. One...
Read moreNew Beginnings Restaurant has a small-town-America feel and menu. The service was quite good, even though they were busy. The food was good, and the space clean and bright. Everyone we spoke with was polite and cheerful, and prices were reasonable. So, if you are looking for standard fare like pancakes, eggs, burgers, etc., I can definitely recommend New Beginnings.
However, I prefer vegan or at least vegetarian food. And I like whole fresh foods, rather than processed, canned, or over-cooked. That is just not what this restaurant is about. Sadly, that's not what most restaurants are about.
Overall, what New Beginnings does, it does very well. If this kind of food on a budget is what you are looking for, you...
Read moreI have always had such wonderful breakfast with my family here. I am a mother to 3 young kids and I enjoy taking them here on the occasional weekend. My only complaint is about a waitress named Lexy. Every time I have this waitress, she is rude and she seems like she hates her job. I feel uncomfortable with the service when I am served by her and she makes my children uncomfortable. I understand people have bad days but every time I have had Lexy she is rude. My family and friends who also frequently eat here have many complaints about her too. I may have to stop coming here altogether because of her but the food is great and the other...
