I love this place but this night out was beyond crowded which didn't bother me too much, it was the service we didn't get from our server but the manager was super nice and awesome and was always smiling and treated us like family! That's what I love there. Normally the service is better but when we got seated (less then a min tho upon arriving), out server finally got to the table and apologized and said he was busy helping with a huge party that came in tho some employees were just standing around doing nothing but he was a nice kid, just a bit overwhelmed I think. Saying that doesn't excuse his service. We asked for a high chair 4 different times but gave up since we got our 3yr old settled with a game. When out food was done and was brought out, my bfs dinner was hot but mine was cold and I ended up missing half my dinner so then I ended up eating my veggies and salad last vs other way Around. The manager, not out server btw, had to come out and inform my bf prior to receiving said dinner that what he ordered was no longer available but he was great and didn't charge full price for his second choice dinner which was more expensive. Finally it took 2-3 more attempts to finally get a couple of take home containers for our left overs. Damn near had to literally grab him by the arm to stop him. Check out was fast and I absolutely loved the rustic but modern gift shoppe area! Made a list of things id like for holidays this year! Got some great pics I think to show off their food And gift area! All in all 4 out of 5. Again, normally it would be a 5 star...just went on a bad night I guess. Lol loved the hat on daughter and the cute outfits too!

Let's start with the good: the two fried chicken breasts were very juicy and had good flavor. I thought the breading was too crispy and I could not chew it comfortably due to sensitivity in a tooth. I wanted to order a Homestyle Favorite meal (that's what my egift card was for) but, since I'm not a regular customer, I didn't know what it was. I asked the Hostess for assistance but all she could offer was a menu and an "I don't know." I asked her to find someone who COULD help and she called a server. As I said, I had an egift card that I was redeeming but for some reason it kept showing that it needed to be activated. How's that? I received it in an email from Cracker Barrel as an apology for bad service during an employee event in Ohio. Fortunately, I had two of them and the second one was redeemed without issue. Now, I usually check my to-go orders before leaving a restaurant but figured it wasn't necessary. Well, guess what, I should have because I ordered biscuit(s) and asked for honey and butter just for that reason. I got back to my hotel only to discover that I DID NOT get my bread but had all of these condiments for it (butter, honey and jellies)! This experience, in a state other than the one I live in has pretty much helped me decide that I will not return to Cracker Barrel.

Best Cracker Barrel I’ve ever been to. We were hungry and tired and didn’t know what time they closed, and they were wonderful. Even though it was late (an hour before closing!) the coffee was perfectly brewed, the pork chops and fried okra were hot and crisp, cornbread was the perfect temperature, and the gravy was just delicious. Also, whomever made their fireplace is the person I would want to build ours if we had one! My husband and I were very grateful for the good dinner. I especially want to give a special shout-out to our server, Laura, for her wonderful service. She was lovely and thanks to her it feels to me like this Cracker Barrel is was what all the other restaurants in the franchise should aspire to be: down-home and friendly with wonderful ambience and great food. We wish this place were closer to home, but even so, I’m sure this won’t be our last visit!

Cracker Barrel Customers - Just a heads up Me and my wife visited the Plainfield Indiana Cracker Barrel last evening between 5:00pm and 6:30pm. Handicap parking, sidewalk and porch were free of snow and ice. Sign on entry door stated they would be closing at 6:00pm. That was wise and acceptable with the existing snowfall. Kudos for being open and to the employees who were present. However, once we entered the restaurant until we left, the experience was a one or two out of a possible ten. There were three servers, one bus boy and two men who were management most likely. We had never seen any of these people previously in the many years we have visited this location. Upon entering, there was no one at the registers or the hostess desk. After being seated and our food order placed, we experienced our longest wait ever. Only half of the restaurant was open and the wait time for everyone was excessive. Perhaps, only one person in the kitchen. We ordered two bowls of pinto beans with onion and relish, Chalua hot sauce, two orders of slaw and corn muffins. Received the beans from a different server. I asked for the missing items including spoons and napkins. Waited and asked a third server, waited and original server finally brought our slaw, one relish and petrified corn muffins. I asked again for spoons, napkins, onions and another relish. Never received any of it. Ate the pinto beans with a fork and used a knife to break the corn muffins apart keeping them from being served again. Slaw was good and pinto beans could have been with the usual onion and relish. No one at register when checking out but manager? came out after very brief wait and asked if evertything was ok. I stated it was our worst service and experience ever at a Cracker Barrel. He said he was sorry. I paid the bill and informed him I would be giving them a very bad review. That will follow on TripAdvisor and Yelp. This detailed post is primarily intended for friends, relatives, neighbors and locals that visit this...

After everything I've tasted earlier this morning, I think Cracker Barrel should take breakfast off the menu. The only thing I enjoyed were the pancakes. Everything else fell below par. The eggs tasted like they came from McDonald's and the sausage patties tasted like they were frozen before. The steak was cooked to medium as requested, but it was almost burnt at the top and it tasted like they picked the toughest cut of meat they could find. Now, the beignets. 1: they didn't give me the dipping sauce like they should have. 2: I almost choked on one of them, because they had WAY too much powdered sugar on them.

UPDATE 02/08/2025: This review is officially downgraded and honestly, I'm depressed! Just had lunch and it was even more appalling than my breakfast was two to three weeks ago! The new meatloaf sliders were absolutely disgusting! Gross glazed sauce and dry chuncks of meat that should go nowhere within 100 miles of a slider. Unsalted vegetables that should be seasoned by the cooks with no excuses. Weird cheese sauce in the mac and cheese that tasted like canned processed crap. And the most annoying shocker, my burger was barely pink, so yeah. Way undercooked than it should be. I don't think I can understand why no one can cook something as simple as a burger. It literally takes 7 to 8 minutes on each side. It's not rocket science.

I'm actually so sad about the situation that Cracker Barrel is in, I could cry, because I used to come here all the time as a child because I liked the food, I liked the games and I liked the store. To see it go so downhill breaks my heart.

My personal opinion, either shut down and let someone else who can make it successful take over or shut down and...

THEY COMPLETELY IGNORE DOORDASHERS Sat there for almost 30 minutes being ignored asked several times for my pick up order, NO ONE HELPED ME. I’m holding up my phone up with my right hand and a giant red DoorDash bag in my left. Two ladies were at the counter, talking and chatting away ignoring me. I finally bugged them enough to where One of the ladies looked into the system and said oh yes, that order was sent in 25 minutes ago. A manager came up. They told him I was looking for this order he picks up a ticket, walks to the back never see him again . No one ever went back to see if someone was working on the order. I finally went back to the kitchen myself some girl said oh they’re remaking it. Not quite sure how she knew that she didn’t even ask for the name. Pretty sure she just made that up No one ever came back out to tell me it was ready or anything. Apparently It was sitting there on the counter the whole time! The lady said oh, I thought you said Amy. At no point did anyone look for an order from an Amy and at no point did anyone say the name Amy. The name Greg does not sound anything like Amy, The other lady standing at the counter said oh, I thought it was her own order that she was waiting on. Really? Did she think that everyone walks up and holds up their phone screen says DoorDash for Greg holding a giant red insulated bag To pick up a personal order Maybe next time I’ll wear a flashing sign around my neck. I lost 25.00 standing around there for over 30 minutes to drive an order 30 minutes away. Plainfield Indiana cracker Barrel, DO BETTER. DoorDash accounts for a lot of your revenue. Don’t ignore us or we will start declining...
