EMPLOYEES STEAL YOUR STUFF
(UPDATE) This is an update to my original review after staying here again. I stayed there the end of NOV. Forgot a pair of Bose sport headphones in my room. Called the next day to speak with someone, no manager available and the person I spoke with on the phone didn't see them in the office. Called during normal business hours the next day, manager again not available and he took my name and number and said someone would call me back, never did. Called AGAIN a few days later, again no manager available to talk to and got the same thing. They checked the office nothing, but we'll take your name and number and have someone call back. Just stayed here again a couple weeks after this and actually spoke with a manager who was actually pleasant to speak with. He checked the lost and found and nothing there. Someone from this place has my headphones and did not turn them into the lost and found. I know for a fact, exactly where I left them and what room number. I saw them on the floor as I was packing my bag and made a mental note to put them in my bag before leaving. Got a phone call right then, was rushed then and forgot to grab them off the floor. I know, I shouldn't have forgot them, but you would think housekeeping would turn them into the lost and found for when the guest comes looking for an expensive pair of Bose headphones. Or maybe they did and another employee swiped them. Either way, an employee from this place stole these.
Ok hotel. Beds are actually comfortable. Clean enough. Be careful where you plug stuff on, for some reason they have some outlets in the room in the same circuit as the light switch. So if you plug your phone or tablet in before bed, and turn off the lights, you may wake up with a dead phone. Don't know why on earth any hotel would do that but they did.
The "gym" is a joke.. and a bad one. Just a big storage area for old broken 1970s fitness equipment. The two treadmills are very unstable and the belts slip so bad they are essentially unusable-dangerous if you run above 4mph. The Bowflex (yes- an actual Bowflex from the '80s) is just rickety, weird, and dangerous to use. There is a universal weight machine that has been Jerry rigged to work, is awkward to use, and the cables and pulleys are so worn it feels like it's going to break...
Read moreWorst ever! I booked a night with La Quinta in Plainfield during my cross-country road trip. I specifically picked a dog friendly room. But when I arrived after 8 pm and tried to check in, I was told by the receptionist Britney that I couldn’t stay because they don’t have any pet-friendly rooms left. I then requested to speak to her supervisor, she said I should just cancel and go somewhere else. When I showed her my reservation, she then charged me a $50 pet fee which is against the law because I showed her my dog’s service certificate.
As a minority woman with a service dog, I was subjected to discriminatory treatment by the receptionist on duty. She said her name was Britney and her boss’s name is Amit Patel, but I don’t know if she is speaking the truth as no name tag was on her.
Despite the fact that my service dog is protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), I was asked to pay a pet fee of $50 and was ultimately asked to leave the hotel. The receptionist's behavior was rude and dismissive, causing me great emotional distress. After a long day's drive, I had to go out with my service dog to look for another hotel to stay after 9 pm exhausted.
Furthermore, the receptionist made discriminatory remarks about my English proficiency, suggesting that she could not understand me. This was a clear example of racial discrimination and is completely unacceptable in any setting. Because I was educated in the US and am a published writer of an English book, her remarks were nothing but racism towards a minority woman.
I have traveled from California to New York and stayed at multiple hotels along the way with my service dog, this is the only place where we were treated so badly and unfairly. I request an official apology and actions to be taken, otherwise I will go to the media. Evidence was kept as the pet fee charged for a service dog and I was asked to leave and had to cancel over the phone...
Read moreNormally I would put a great review up about a place I have been to. My husband reserved a 2 queen bed suite for us and our 3 children and our small dog. The woman that answered the phone is the same woman that gave our room away.
We are also Wyndham Rewards members as well so not only will this review be lovated here but it will also be located on the Wyndham Rewards site as well. We called and ordered our room in advance. My husband is a truck driver and he requires a decent amount of rest when he drives out. This time he wanted to bring his family with him and make a family rip out of it. But the lady could have cared less because she was rude and indifferent when she took our call we asked for early check-in and asked for 2 queen beds and the room to be pet friendly to be reserved for Saturday the 15th and check out later on that evening on the 15th. She rudely told us she reserved the room for what we wanted after we told her we have 3 children and a small dog.
On Saturday the 15th at 10am we arrive and to our surprise find out they have not only given us a room with 1 King Size bed but they have also made sure it is not pet friendly. Then the lady says to us that she has no availble rooms on the 1st floor where all of our pet friendly rooms are. She doesn't care that we are rewards memebrs and does not care to try and make this right. She remembers taking the call and still tells us we have to wait until 3 pm because she has no rooms. We sit in the lobby and wait for 2 hours and 30 mins. By the time 1240 hits I say lets go back to the truck and sleep there. My husband cancels the reservation and the lady does not even try to see if she can make this right. But instead was very happy to say enjoy your say and I hope you had a very nice stay.
I do not recommend anyone with a family and a dog to ever stay here at this particular hotel because they will treat...
