Been twice to the Paris Baguette in Plainsboro since it opened couple of months ago. All I can say is both times has been a wonderful experience.
Food - finally a bakery that has a decent choice of eggless pastries that do not have eggs (I do not eat eggs) and to top it off all the pastries I have tried so far are not invery sweet!!!. The taste is very European/ South East Asian where focus is on the actual pastry or filling and not sugar. Plus in each item they have listed whether it has eggs or any other major allergens (milk, nuts, etc.)
Service - both times I have had excellent service from the staff. They are very friendly and courteous. The first time I went the associate walked me thru the pastry case and showed me everything that did not have eggs. I really appreciated that. In addition both times the associates are quite chatty which makes one feel welcome and feel like a true neighborhood place. Even a place like nearby Princeton does not have any bakery that has same selection of eggless pastries like Paris Baguette in Plainsboro
Ambiance - typical casual place but very clean and well lit. Everything is well laid out and labeled. You grab a tray, tongs and your goodies and pay at the register. If you want coffee , you pay at the register
To top it all off on my birthday, having downloaded their app, I also got a free cake slice. That was a nice surprise. Use their app as itâs easy to order and you get good rewards
Definitely recommend this place if you want good quality and not very sweet pastries. For those that do not have eggs, trust me you will like this place. Unlike other places where they may have only 1-2 items to choose from this had at least 7+ items to choose from
Hoping the management continues to keep the quality and service in the future same as it is now so we can continue to enjoy a neighborhood...
Read moreWe loved their cakes and other bakeries, and we always order from here as a regular customer. Ordered a birthday cake yesterday, to be picked up today at 3 PM. However, the birthday girl got sick overnight and we have to reschedule the party. I called the store 9 AM to request change the delivery date, and was told âno, it cannot be doneâ. They I went to the store, spoke with a person, supposedly the store manager. He pointed to the âno refundâ sign before I finished the request of date change. I repeated that I am not canceling the order, just want to change the date. He went checked the fridge and then told me âI need to talk to my general manager, and will call you back in 30 minutesâ. Yes, you guessed it, he never called. So I had to make another trip to picked it up in the afternoon. And I knew the cake wasnât made at the time when I was in the store, since he couldnât give it to me (so I can bring it home if it was already made). He simply lied to me to buy time. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
Follow up: the store owner called to apologize and offered to provide us an identical cake on the new date. Their effort is appreciated. I hope they will keep up the...
Read moreVery cute concept but the food needs to be good and not just look fancy. This review is on three items. The twisted donut, was VERY dry and disappointing although it looked like it would be delicious. We bought four and threw out the other three after trying one. Dunkin Donuts is better. Macarons were ok. We bought a box set variety. To be honest, we have made better tasting and better textured baked goods ourselves at home. The shop looks pretty and the products certainly look beautiful in their display cases. There are two bakers âon displayâ seemingly preparing recipes, stand mixers and all, at the front of the store, which lends authenticity to the baked goods. Based on the one donut: appearances can be deceiving? Coffee was ok. You have to add your own cream and you are basically handed a cup of black coffee. There was a wait because there was only one cashier for some time. Another person eventually came to help as the line formed to about 6 customers deep. Doubt we will try another item from this high-priced boutique. And this: there was only one baguette available. Not a bread shop either...
