I have never given a restaurant such low stars but i had to for this one. My husband and I came here for a date night this weekend to celebrate Valentines Day. The best thing about this place was the atmosphere, it was very nice, relaxing and cozy.
Aside from that, the experience was just not what we expected. This place is way to expensive for the food that we got served. I ordered a mango Lassi and a restaurant that charges for sides of onions, achar, and a very small amount of raita (had to order 2) and papad with chutneys (which normally comes free at other restaurants) I was very surprised that the Mango Lassi wasn't even served in a glass. I got it in a plastic container that you would get at a fast food Indian restaurant.
The food: We ordered the Tawa chicken for appetizers. The entire dish was filled with onions with a sprinkle of a few pieces of chicken. The flavor was okay but could use some lemon. For dinner we we wanted lamb but they didn't have any which is fine and understandable so we ordered the Goat vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. We normally order our Indian food at a medium spice level but we wanted to eat spicy food that night so we asked for them to make it spicy.
When the food came put we were excited to eat it cause it looked amazing, unfortunately we were very disappointed. The food was not spicy at all!!!! Instead it seemed as if it was extra mild and needed salt as well. Indians know that vindaloo sauce is naturally a spicy sauce so we were expecting the Goat vindaloo to be extra spicy. To our surprise it was actually very sweet and the Goat pieces we got was mainly bones with very little meat. We barely ate it. The chicken tikka masala definitely needed to be spicier and needed salt.
Our total was $98 with tip for two people. We ended up taking all our food home (5 containers) because we didn't want our money to go to waste. Last night I warmed it up and added salt and red chilli powder and it tasted great. The only thing we couldn't eat was the Goat because everything was mainly bones and no meat.
If you like mild food this is the perfect place for you. As an Indian wanting good Indian food I would not...

Visiting Jhopri Restaurant was a gastronomic adventure that delighted us with its tantalizing array of Indian dishes. Despite being a repeat patron, I was pleasantly surprised to find the menu expanded to include both goat and chicken curry alongside an array of vegetarian options.
What was truly heartwarming was their willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions. Their readiness to prepare an entrée devoid of onions and garlic for a member of our group was a testament to their customer-first approach.
Service was a bit delayed, which could have been an issue, but our waiter Brinda was friendly and made sure to expedite our order, making the wait bearable. Her professionalism and pleasant demeanor added a touch of comfort to our dining experience.
Among the starters, the pakora stood out, with its delicious blend of flavors. The main courses were equally delightful, with the Dal Tadka and Mushroom curry being particularly savory. The Naan was crisp and well-made, a perfect accompaniment to the spicy curries.
The star of the meal, however, was the goat curry. The richness and depth of flavors were exquisite, leaving us yearning for more. Unfortunately, the second helping was a bit of a letdown, heavy on potatoes and light on meat. I would have appreciated a prompt refill here.
For dessert, the south Indian delicacy, Sarkarai Pongal, and the Rice Kheer were delightful endings to a delicious meal.
Given the crowded state of the main dining area, we were seated in the banquet hall. The spacious setting with large tables was surprisingly pleasing and offered a sense of privacy, which was a bonus to our dining experience.
In conclusion, despite a few minor hiccups, Jhopri restaurant offers a delightful and unique Indian dining experience. With its varied menu, accommodating service, and comfortable ambiance, it is a destination I would readily revisit. However, a little more attention to buffet refills and service time could elevate the experience...
