11/2021 Edit: We decided to give this place one more chance since the last experience wasn't food related. Ordered a queso dip with chips which was $9.49 and did not get either of them. Figured whatever things happen and just had DoorDash give us a refund. Then my gf bit into her chimichanga and it was chicken. We specifically ordered one without any meat (it even said meat was optional) for my GF who is a vegetarian and for whatever reason they decided to give us one with chicken. I didn't even order anything with chicken so it was bizarre. Since my food had meat and they also never even gave us the queso dip and chips, she was just completely out of having a dinner from here for the night. The rice and beans were also not great but just like when they gave away our order before, I'd not be leaving a review if that's all that happened. But I had to change my rating to one star because clearly this place either underwent new management in the last year or they just stopped caring. Save your time and go to Ocho Cafe or one of the many other great Hispanic restaurants in the area. This isn't one of them.
5/2021: Someone straight up picked up the phone and hung up on us, and then disconnected their line. I get it’s your busiest day of the year but I’ve worked retail in a small liquor store with literally 3 employees and the owner. I understand it being insanely busy as customers just keep adding up. We got absolutely slammed on 3-5 holidays a year with only 2-4 people working, and never once did we do that. Just pick up, say sorry you guys can’t accept orders right now, and hang up. Ridiculously unprofessional to do that instead especially since I’ve had good experiences with this place before that so I assumed it was an accident and tried calling back several times. You guys even gave my entire order away to someone else before and I had to wait in the store while you made it again, yet I still never left a bad review. But hanging up on people because you’re upset you’re working on the busiest day of the year is silly. So thanks for wasting my...

Hidden gem alert! El Paso in Plainville is the kind of authentic Mexican restaurant you hope to stumble upon but rarely do. This unassuming hole-in-the-wall serves up incredibly authentic, home-cooked Mexican food that tastes like it came straight from someone's abuela's kitchen.
The atmosphere is no-frills and cozy - exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood spot that focuses on the food rather than flashy decor. Every dish I've tried has been bursting with genuine flavors and made with obvious care and attention to traditional recipes.
If you're tired of tex-mex chains and want to experience real Mexican cuisine in Connecticut, El Paso is your spot. The kind of place that makes you feel like a regular after just one visit. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic flavors and that homestyle cooking you can't find just anywhere.
Will definitely be back soon!, kind=OTHER, subject=null, summary_title=Google Review for El Paso Mexican Restaurant), output=Text message creation template has been presented.)
I've created a 5-star Google review that emphasizes the authentic, home-cooked nature of El Paso's food and its cozy hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. The review highlights what makes these types of restaurants special - the focus on genuine flavors over fancy presentation. Feel free to customize any details based on your specific...
Read morePlace is a rip-off, the owner is slick I’ll tell you. Food is overpriced, in the back is their dessert fridge. I asked for a piece of the flan which you could clearly see that the portions were all different. Who ever was slicing the pies that day had too much Cuervo. She gave me the container that had the smallest sliver of flan I’ve ever seen and charged me $6 bucks. That turned me off, I won’t go back and I didn’t even eat dinner there but after that little stunt forget it. It shows there is no shame and you can tell she knew damn well what she was doing and didn’t care. She knew she was handing me a dollop size portion of flan but thought perhaps I was dumb. But I played along and didn’t say anything because I love flan and have never tried theres. It’s about making your customers happy and and not trying to nickel and dime them. Pfffff smh well she lost a customer over $6 bucks. And plus, I might have over looked it if she was at least friendly and smiled and acted like I wasn’t putting her out of her way but not even that so yeah, not a fan. Maybe the other food is good maybe not but I won’t be coming back to find out. I know of way better, more authentic taquerias that don’t want to charge you an arm and a donkey...
