West Main Pizza — Restaurant in Plainville

Have been here one other time had a good experience, good food for what you would expect at a local pizza place. Sat in the bar area which was entertaining. Went back today and there was no room for seating in the bar had to sit in the dining area. Decor needs to be updated maybe a couple of TV’s too because it is way to quiet. Food took an hour, we almost left because we were hungry and the mood was just off. Waitresses were very nice but stressed and embarrassed because orders weren’t ready when they needed it. Calamari undercooked my daughter had to spit it out and said she got the “ick” was very chewy and undercooked, waitress noticed we barely ate it and refunded this item for us which was appreciated. Pizza undercooked tasted and smelled very doughy not a lot of flavor…..just sat heavy in all of our stomachs. You can tell the kitchen is understaffed and not in sync rushing to get in house, door dash, and take out orders complete but in reality food is taking way too long and the quality control is very poor. It may be a good place to stop in for a drink at the bar on your way by but we won’t be back to order food. Waitresses very nice and friendly but the lack of consistency here is making it difficult for them to do their jobs too and they have to deal with all the unhappy customers….. you can see they are frustrated. Our experience today with the wait and the quality of the food really put a damper on our Friday night dinner plans and made the mood tense which was unfortunate since it was the first time all week we were able to sit and talk as a family. Moved to plainville August 2017 from new haven of all places which has many options for the countries best pizza I decided to give west main a try in my search for a good pizza spot .. long story short met Mike there he was incredibly nice never met me before made me feel like family or a long time friend thanks mike for the warm welcoming . As far as the pizza and salad TOP NOTCH !! 5 STARS ALL AROUND ! ALSO if you are looking for a place to grab a drink with friends guys or gals just from a glance everyone looked like they were having a great time and it looked like a really nice bar they even have a deck with a TV I'll definitely be bringing back the kids and wife to eat in . Highly recommend I write sincere reviews when I find great spots or have excellent experiences there so people can go to a place they know they will have a good time with there family and because when a business works hard they deserve it !!

The food is not the issue - it's OK to good. We went there and there it took us 1 hour to get our food. But that wasn't the issue either. When we went up to pay, the owner (lady) saw my wife's face and asked if everything was OK. She said since you asked, it took an hour to get our food. The owner said that they have been open since 11:00 AM and she was the first to complain and that they have been in business for 45 years. My wife said, well you asked me so I told you. The owner said that "You must complain everwhere you go!" My wife said "What did you ask me for if you didn't want to know or didnt care?" The owner said "Get out and never come back!" I couldn't believe it! I have never seen the owner of any business react so harshly to something that could have been handled so easily. We will never eat there again.
