We first visited Christmas Eve a few years ago. We saw a photo on the menu with varied meat in a aluminum pan. We asked what it was and the owner said it was a mixed grill of chicken and beef. We decided to order it. It comes with plain or buttered naan. We ordered the buttered naan. The dish comes with two dips, a yogurt dip and a cilantro dip. My husband told the owner that it was the best chicken he ever had. The owner smiled broadly and brought a third dip, a sweet and sour tamarind dip. The tamarind dip is my favorite because it was not hot. On Christmas Eve, we dined in. It was empty when we first entered then filled quickly. I was the only woman there without a head cover. It was not an issue whatsoever. A man was in the back next to the restrooms, on the floor, praying. My husband and I loved the vibe of the restaurant. The owner is warm and welcoming. There is a Pakistani flag on the wall. Food is served in disposable aluminum pans and consumed on styrofoam plates with plastic cutlery. Very modest but such a wonderful find. Since then, we have ordered the same mixed grill to go. I always ask for the third tamarind dip and the owner happily adds one or two containers to my order—no charge. Since the name of the restaurant is Texas cafe and grill, with IndoPak in small lettering, my husband and I wondered if bubba ever walked in expecting a Texas meal? The menu includes some American options but I cannot comment on those. We highly recommend the mixed grill. It is spicy but the dips...
Read moreif I had an option of giving zero stars I would definitely do so as i was visiting from Missouri ... this place was recommended to us by my family members living in Plano Texas to get food for an event i was hosting & I encountered the following issues:
customer service - a business should acknowledge the issues pointed out by the customer.. I'm a foodie so I know what Nihari tastes like. I called right away after our guests left and no one touched the nihari i got from this place as all said its not fully cooked and there is no taste of nihari .. so when i Called I was told by Mr. Kashif that no one has complained but me. well I WAS COMPLAINING!!
when someone is getting food from outside especially nowadays they hope and wish that the guests who are going to eat that food will like it eventually which they didn't.
overall the worst experience. I have 3 families living in Plano (who were permanent customers of BBQ King and Texas Cafe and Grill both) and all have decided to stop going to this place as well as the BBQ king and getting food from it after this mishap. and i would recommend all others to do as...
We've visited this restaurant a few times and will definitely continue coming back! It truly reminds me of Pakistan, with its authentic Pakistani style and atmosphere. The service was excellent, especially the waiter, who was very friendly and welcoming, and even took the time to explain how the food is prepared.
I would recommend calling ahead if you prefer not to wait, as the wait can be at least 45 minutes. However, my family and I didn't mind waiting since the food is cooked fresh, which is exactly what we love—fresh, delicious meals.
I absolutely loved their homemade ice cream, especially the mango flavor. We also tried their kheer (rice pudding), and it was perfect, just like how it's made in Pakistan. This is truly the best Pakistani restaurant in the Plano area!
We ordered the chicken salan, which was incredibly flavorful. The naan was also outstanding—soft yet crispy, a perfect balance. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone looking for an authentic Pakistani dining experience. The food and service are...
