This place was a bit of a mixed bag for our date evening. I loved the atmosphere immediately on entering. Dark, relaxed, and warm and smelling of Italian food on a cold night. We were served a very generous portion of French bread slices with free refills. We tried the artichoke hearts and while they were obviously pickled, the butter and breadcrumbs they were served with were very nice. Onto the main food, I got veal piccata (I get piccata almost every time we visit an Italian place) and bf got the pasta sampler. My piccata was… strange. The veal was fantastic, and I loved it. The sauce on the pasta alone was odd, tasted like unsalted butter with WAY too much lemon, like kitchen cleaner levels of lemon. It wasn’t great on the pasta. Bf said the lasagna was fine on the sampler and that the sauce “may be good on a pizza next time?” But the ravioli was not good to him. He described everything we ordered as “odd” and he generally likes most food. So overall, not sure how I feel on the place. I’m pretty sure our meals came with salads we never received, so I’m bumping my 3.5 down to a 3 instead of up to a 4. I didn’t hate the place, but didn’t love it either.

We had great service tonight. Atmosphere was dark and cozy but dated. The food was just average. I really enjoyed the house salad they brought before the meal. It was just iceberg lettuce soaked in Italian dressing with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. The complimentary bread was a nice touch. It was brought warm with butter packets underneath, which helped soften the butter for easy spreading. But the taste was missing any flavor. My daughter did not like the Linguini, saying it was very bland. The eggplant parm tasted good, but I prefer less fried crust and more eggplant. The side of broccoli was just steamed and had little flavor. The portion size was small for the price. The pizza was classic Campisi’s. As we have started reducing our carbs, we find a preference to their signature thin crust. The sausage on the pizza had a very strong fennel taste, which I found overpowering. Seems to be a favorite for older locals. Nothing was exceptional that would make us want to return. But I’m sure we will order a pizza for take-out at some point.

It's not mind blowing, but if you love Italian food, it will be authentic. I'm not crazy about this restaurant, but the food is very unique. I ordered the Veal Scaloppini with Marsala sauce and a meat lovers pizza Togo. The Veal was okay, the breading on it was mushy, but the noodles with the sauce tasted really good. You can definitely taste the wine and because of that it's VERY SWEET. It was way too sweet for me, so I had to dump a lot of salt on it then it tasted good. They have complimentary salads and omg it was SO GOOD. The dressing was amazing, it's a perfect salad. The pizza was the best part, I absolutely loved it, it tastes amazing, the dough is thin crust style, but it's not crunchy, it's soft like regular pizza and tasted amazing, I'm thinking it's sourdough or something. It's not Americanized Italian food, it is authentic, so it may not appeal to everyone, but definitely worth the try. I will come back for the pizza!

I normally don't leave reviews but felt like I needed to. Food was Great but for a pick up order Service was kind of bad. Went & picked up our food (2 orders since was for everyone at office) around 1:00 Pm. There was only 2 tables taken up and each table had only 2 people sitting down and 1 server taking care of them both. When I walked in I stood there for a good couple min before she even acknowledged me then asked me (with out even fully walking to me) "what I needed" not what can she help with; when I informed her it was to pick up A take out order she just pointed to 3 bags on the other side of the bar and said "there you go" and walked off.......So I guess this server is ok with people just going through all bags sitting on a counter to look for their food. That's unsanitary even before Covid was a thing. The only reason this is not a 3 star or even 2.5 star is because the gentleman that was behind the bar on the phone taking a call in order put them on hold and asked me how he "could help"/what the name for the order was. I told him the 2 names and was then informed that all bags out were for the 2 orders. Thank you to the gentleman behind the bar (might have been manager biased on what he was wearing). And to the lady with long black hair, please learn to respect all customers or go work at a fast food restaurant. She is the only reason I did not leave a cash tip like I normally do for pick ups. I tip based on services not on how...

This place is great. Been here a few times before and definitely need to return more often. The darkness, candles, Sinatra music; reminds of a place called La Familia in Reno, NV. Menu is diverse and something for everyone. Even if you are not into some of the more traditional Italian dishes. Pasta is always cooked slightly over Al dente which I like, and even the lasagna tastes fresh baked, and not just re-heated out of a sheet pan.

Service is great and there is plenty of characters there. Guy who manages/owns/runs the place is hilarious! He has to be hard of hearing because he practically screams when he talks. Heard him talking to a Hispanic cook about some fried shrimp! Guy must have repeated himself 10 times! Running around, answering the phone and taking orders, yelling at staff. Not even realizing he is 30 db over inside voice! Best part was when he stopped to roll some silverware. He was sneezing while he was doing it! Sneezing all over the napkins and silverware! No attempt to cover his nose or mouth! I could even see particulates flying out of his holes and onto the linen and small wares! Just saying, bring your own linens if you go here, and maybe a disposable fork!

I don’t care myself. Snotman is pure entertainment...

Sat down and did not have anyone greet us for almost 10 minutes (there was only two other tables) the female server said, this is your table to the Male server that was too busy on his phone. I was going to walk out be she was extremely kind and apologetic for the other guy.

I absolutely cannot stand dirty dishes from the salad left on my table when the meal comes. There was no effort to pre bus the table. Then dinner comes and the chicken parm is burnt and more like fried chicken that was left in a fryer too long. I sent the chicken back and asked for it to go. When I go home the chicken was pretty gross and had no sauce. It was thick and like they took a piece of pre cooked chicken put some breadcrumbs and fried it then melted cheese in the to go box My daughter wanted dessert. I was given the check before my kids were finished. We were not asked about coffee or dessert. This was one of the worst Italian restaurants I have ever been to. And anyone that claims to be from NY and says this is like NY food must not remember what real Italian food is.

I really wanted to like this place because it's close to home but with the greeting to the end was an unforgettably bad experience and...
