I used to work in the McKinney area and frequented the Allen Plucker's 2 to 3 times per week. The food and service were always great. I was very excited when I heard that a new Plucker's store would be opening in Plano, since I live at Park & Preston, but the experience has just never been up to par. I have been left sitting for ridiculous amounts of time waiting for service. I've had orders come out wrong multiple times. I've been served cold food multiple times. Unfortunately it seems as though teenagers are left to run the joint by themselves most of the time. Last night my wife and I got there at about 9:30. We stood at he door for a good 7 or 8 minutes before anybody even looked at us. When the hostess finally strolled over to greet us, she acted like we were just a pain in her butt. Since there was a big birthday party going on inside, we asked if we could sit on the patio, to which she replied with her sour puss attitude that nobody was working out there and left it at that. Nobody seemed to be working anywhere for that matter. So, she walked us down to a corner booth where we sat for 10 to 15 minutes thoroughly neglected. None of the servers would even look at us. Apparently nobody wanted another table. They were quite happy to just hang out there by the computer doing nothing. When I was finally pissed off enough to get up and leave, the kid that appeared to be the baby faced manager's only remark was "Have you been helped?" I replied nope as I walked out the door. It's not a good idea for me to have a conversation when I'm that aggravated. I have an extensive background in bar and restaurant management on the east coast some years ago, and let me tell you that this place is downright pathetic. I will never be back. If you feel like contacting me, knock...
Read moreWhen we moved to the area, my wife was ecstatic about having a Pluckers so nearby. Over the past 3 months, that excitement has dwindled to the point where I have to suggest it as a destination. After tonight, I'm not sure I'll even be recommending it any more. The bartender seemed more interested in talking to her friend at the bar, loudly and profanely, than assisting anyone. After finally convincing her to come take our order, it took over 30 minutes to receive our food. My sandwich was hot but dry and old-tasting. That, however, was a HUGE step up from the literally cold wings that my wife ordered. When we mentioned it to the bartender, she was unsurprised and uninterested. She told us she would get us new wings as she walked away. We asked her not to as my wife had now lost her appetite. She simply said okay and went back to her conversation. After the manager was berated by the people next to us for also receiving ice cold food, he came to us and gave the same, unfortunately well-rehearsed, speech that we heard him give to them. At that time, he also gave us the same gift card that he gave to them, which he was clearly used to giving out. He did make mention of the fact that his employees were trying to go home. The restaurant is open until 12 and this was just past 11. It seems as if the service here declines every time we go back. Not sure if it has to do with us or the management but we'll not be going back to find out. It does make us realize now why we've never experienced a long wait for a table at this location, though. Sad. We were...
Read moreThe wait time was not long for a Sunday night, we were sat and helped fairly quickly which was a plus because pluckers is always busy. However, our food took close to an hour to come out and we had some issues. I had a party of 6 so wait times for food is expected, but we never got our appetizer while we were waiting either (potato chip appetizer) and our orders were all pretty simple, everyone mostly just ordered wings and two ordered a sandwich. One of my friends received his 10 piece with only 9 wings, I never received the order of spicy ranch tater tots that I ordered with my meal, our server seemed to be busy we were never offered refills, and the food was only warm. We were seated in the small seating area that has a straight view into the kitchen and we watched as the cooks were putting boxed Togo orders on top of plated wings that were going out into the line to tables. Overall cleanliness wasnât so great either as there was mosquitoes on the walls, the table was sticky, (we were inside mind you) and the patio area was a mess. Our server was apologetic and I do not blame him as it seemed like all the servers were pretty frustrated with the kitchen / management. He did take care of the items I did not receive which I appreciate and he did apologize multiple times for the inconvenience, kindness goes a long way and thatâs really the only thing that gets this pluckers to two stars. Overall very unsatisfied as we always look forward to pluckers this location was just extremely...
