As soon as you enter through the doors of Cibo Cucina Italiana, just know that you are in for a treat. We were greeted and seated by Dilayda - the owner - and a beautiful person with an equally magnetic energy. So attentive, friendly, professional, and engaging. An inviting/charming energy and ambiance awaits you with the most intricate design elements and detail that lend aesthetic value to the intimate dining space. It was reminiscent of a farm-to-table restaurant we went to in the Tuscan Countryside in the spring of 2016. We are first-time visitors here and are already aware about how busy this place tends to get, so we decided to come for lunch at an off-peak time. We were absolutely blown away by the food, service, and ambiance. Dilayda is an absolute rockstar - she made sure we had everything we needed during our meal and checked on us in intervals. She clearly cares about her guests, welcomes their feedback, and works efficiently and closely with her team behind the scenes in order to provide stellar customer service. Our culinary journey began with two glasses of bubbly, crisp, and refreshing Ruffino Prosecco. Perfectly paired with a series of authentic Italian Dishes, you really can't go wrong with just about any wine on the Menu. Next came the Olive Oil Dip and Bread, which achieved just the right balance of flavor as it gently coated the tongue with fruitiness and lightly cleansed the palate. The olive oil dip is Dilayda's recipe - she created it herself. Yum! We also ordered the Cozze Marinara (followed by Lobster Ravioli for me and Lasagna for Mom). All excellent! The Garlic Lemon White Wine Sauce needs to be bottled and sold! The Mussels were small, but mighty, and just the right temperature. From the creamy, saucy consistency of the pillowy pockets of goodness to the savory, smoky tomato flavor and chopped shrimp with just a hint of sweetness, it honestly left me wanting more. I have never had a Lobster Ravioli quite like this. I loved it, but you will just have to try it and judge for yourself. Mom mentioned that she loved her Lasagna and that it reminded her of dining at a sidewalk cafe in Italy. I also stole a bite from her plate and I concur! These are generous portions at reasonable prices. It is clear that only the best, freshest, and highest quality ingredients are utilized in house. The Chef is from Italy and having worked in some of the most prestigious kitchens in the world, it's no wonder that you will face a wait here on any day of the week. Highly recommend reservations or else you will be waiting or leave very disappointed. For Dessert, we ordered Tiramisu alongside Turkish Tea. With its sinfully good coffee-soaked layers of ladyfingers and cream, who could resist? Most places make it too dry and almost cracker-like and for me, it's a texture thing. This Tiramisu was a true standout because it was spongy and flavorful. It was beautifully presented on a plate that read, "Welcome to Cibo." The Turkish Tea was delightful - somewhat reminiscent of a faint apple spice with undertones of clove and cinnamon and a punch of intensity. Just delicious! From the countless Google and Yelp! reviews this place has, I was expecting to box any Entrée or Dessert leftovers and take them home for the next day. Not so. We engaged in conversation with both Dilayda and Madison and just loved their vibe and energy. I'm not sure I understand some of the low reviews on this establishment, but then again, you can't please everyone and it is possible that some Yelpers and Googlers clearly don't know authentic Italian or how it should taste. We plan to return and can definitely see ourselves being regulars here going forward. We have already made reservations for Dinner on another night in a few weeks - thank you Madison for your assistance. Thank you Dilayda and Madison and Chef for a wonderful meal! Mom and I will see you again soon!

Wife found this new gem in North Plano. We have been waiting for a good Italian restaurant in our neighborhood. We found it! The restaurant has been open about a month they said. The place is in a shopping strip on Preston and 121 by Pei Wei. The place is charming and nicely decorated. Our server, Nick, was very attentive and helpful when asking about dish suggestions. Truthfully I didn’t have big expectations going in. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. We started with the Italian salad and calamari. The Italian salad was large enough to share for three of us and really good. Presentation was nice as well. The calamari was lightly breaded and plentiful. Our main dishes were all so good. My daughter ordered the Chef’s Pasta, wife the Cibo (pronounced Chi-Bo) Rigatoni, and I ordered the Seafood Spaghetti. All three dishes were cooked perfectly al dente like we like. The sauces were all fabulous as well. My daughter and my dishes were asked to kick it up spicy. It wasn’t as spicy as we would have liked, but overall still fantastic. The portions are very large as well. Literally we asked to pack all three dishes up after eating 1/3 each. Leftovers, love it! We were in a rush so we ordered dessert to go. Got the vanilla bean cheesecake and tiramisu. Tiramisu was my favorite. Overall, we are excited this place is close to the house and the quality and service was so good. If you are looking for a really good small Italian restaurant in the Plano/Frisco area, heck in North Dallas, come give this place a try. Ask for Nick. You won’t be disappointed.

All I can say is WOW! My new favorite restaurant by far. I came in here with my Mom Saturday at about lunch time. We ordered the Fresca Salad to split, then the Lasagna, the Lobster Ravioli, and the Tiramisu for desert with an Espresso and Cappuccino. Maybe is just worked out how we ordered, with the salad first and our main course after, but everything came out so quickly, with the most beautiful presentation. Everything was delicious, but I’ll go over every dish; the Fresca salad was light, with delicious bold flavors, the goat cheese was nice and warm and was such a delicious note in an otherwise cold dish. The lasagna was so creamy and delicious, the pasta inside was rolled out very thin so the dish felt so light yet the portion was perfect to feel full. Saving the best two for last; the Lobster Ravioli was the bomb, if you’re not a fan of seafood I wouldn’t recommend though, but for us it was delicious. And for desert the Tiramisu was beautifully presented with a fantastic taste. The coffee to pair was perhaps some of the best coffee I’ve had, I’m not huge on black coffee but after a sip from my moms cup I decided next time it’d definitely be what I ordered, it wasn’t the usual bitter black coffee taste but smooth and bold. Price wise for such beautiful tableware, atmosphere and absolutely bomb food it was more than worth it, for all we ordered we ended up paying about $90 after tips. All in all, we decided my soon to be birthday dinner would definitely be here 😉

It is unfortunate I am writing this review, and I had not planned to until what happened at the end of my visit. I had high expectations after reading such great reviews. Wife and I arrived at 7pm on a Saturday night and were seated promptly. I would say the restaurant was at 85 percent capacity. We placed our order within about 10 minutes of arriving. Mussels for appetizer with a pizza and lasagna for entree. It took right around an hour for the mussels to arrive with the pizza about 10 minutes later. No sign of the lasagna. Both items tasted great, we were pleased. We kept asking about the lasagna. We will check the staff said over and over. Finally after 15 minutes they informed us the lasagna had been served to someone else. Many profuse apologies by several staff. The manager at one point came by and said our tab would be on the house. I was happy to hear that and they said the lasagna was being prepared. Meanwhile, tables that were seated after us were being brought their food. More than 30 minutes later still no lasagna. Again more apologies, which the reason being given is that they had only been open a month and they still were going through growing pains. Sorry, but after a whole month of operation, this should not happen. Understand that I am a person who rarely ever complains and is very patient and tolerant. But here is what caused me to write this review. Finally around the 2 hour mark, the lasagna came. I asked them to box it to go. I was looking forward to at tasting it as the other food had been great. After 10 minutes, I had to ask where it was. When they brought it to me in a plastic to go bag, I was a little shocked. There was almost no weight to it at all. I immediately opened it and checked. The portion was less than half of what had been brought to the table with it being almost all noodle and barely any sauce or meat. We asked the young lady who boxed it and she said yes, that’s the dinner portion. I highly suspect my lasagna was given again to another patron and this tiny portion scraped out of what was left in the pan they cooked it in. It 100 percent was not what was brought to the table. It’s because of this shady move that I wrote this review. I was prepared to let the rest go and just go home and chalk it up to bad luck. But to do this to someone who waited nearly 2 hours was just too much. So I ended up having fast food chicken tenders for dinner at 9:30pm and boy did they taste good! I wish the restaurant success and hope this never happens to...

I’ve been to this restaurant several times before and usually have a good experience, but unfortunately, my recent visit with a group of friends left us disappointed. Our server, an older gentleman who seemed kind at first, made the experience uncomfortable in a few ways. Early on, he offered us salad in a way that made it seem like it was included with the meal; something I’ve never encountered at this restaurant before. It came across as a subtle upsell rather than a genuine offer, which felt a bit misleading. Another odd moment was when he collected our dishes; the clanking of the plates and silverware was so loud and abrupt, it actually made me flinch. It felt careless and out of place in a professional dining setting. The biggest issue, however, was with the check. Our group consisted of five people of different races and ages, clearly friends and not a single family unit. Still, the waiter handed the bill to the only man at the table and said something like, “This must be for you.” That comment came across as sexist and based on outdated assumptions. When we asked for separate checks, something I’ve easily done at this restaurant before, he told us it wasn’t possible because we hadn't requested it at the beginning. It would have made more sense for him to ask us early on, especially considering the size and diversity of our group. To make matters worse, our friend’s card was charged twice. It’s still pending, but a duplicate charge on a bill over $100 is a major oversight and added unnecessary stress. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience really missed the mark; especially compared to previous visits. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to train staff on more thoughtful, inclusive service and...
