I am a smoker. I know it's a nasty habit. And believe it or not most smokers that I know agree, it is nasty. With that being said, please don't judge me because I do not have the same vice as you. You may ask yourself, "What does that have to do with Dickeys BBQ?" Well read the review to the end and you will see how my 'vice' changed my review from 2.5 stars to 4. When entering the restaurant we were greeting somewhat abruptly and the gentleman seemed a little put out when asked a question about a menu item. Next we received our food served directly on a paper lined metal tray. This is not the first bbq place to do this but my personal preference is to eat my food off a dish of some kind. Be it paper, plastic or glass. The food, pulled pork, baked potato casserole and bbq beans was very good! At least until I spilled my glass of ice water in the tray and consequently on my food. While swatting at one of the many knats or fruit flys that seemed just as interested in the food as I was. I used the roll of paper towels on our table to soak up the water my trayed food was now swimming in and grabbed a cup of warm bbq sauce to try an salvage my meat. It did not make me feel any better when an employee passed by the table during this and did nothing to help or even offer an apology for these flying pest intent on ruining our dining experience. The food tastes good but the knats brought to mind concern over the kitchens overall cleanliness. Leaving my sister to finish her supper. I stepped outside to have a cigarette. I don't smoke in my car and having spent the last week on a nearby non smoking hospital campus. My eyes lit up when I saw tables and chairs for outdoor dining and not one 'no smoking' sign in sight. It was the first time in a week that I was able to sit and smoke a cigarette. Nobody rushed out to tell me I couldn't have that cigarette. Nobody asked me to move on. And interestingly enough I wasn't even bothered by any flying pest while in the outdoor dining area bringing my rating from 2.5 stars to the 4 stars you see now and my review to an end. God bless and I hope this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I have four kids and we have visited many Dickeys locations in the past and they have always been welcoming. Last night, we decided to go to this location in Plano because we had taken our kids out to an arcade nearby. We pulled into the parking lot at 8:25. It took us about 5 minutes to get off the car. Our youngest children are a toddler and a baby. All the while I could see the employees watching us from inside the building. Mind you, when we pulled in, the cook was outside on the phone and went inside as soon as we pulled up. As soon as we made it inside, the gentlemen behind the counter said, āhello guys, this order is to go right?ā I was very shocked and said, no, itās not. He said, kitchen closes in 20 min. I was like.. wow, okay. And my husband looked at me and said, what do you want to do? I said, well, letās go somewhere else. It was one of the rudest experiences Iāve ever had at any establishment. He didnāt say, hi guys, howās your night? No, hi, itās to go right? So I put my baby in the car and left the kids with my husband while I walked back in to get his name and his managers name, he claimed he was the manager and also said, his name was Juan and wouldnāt give me his last name. Very very rude. He said his last name was Juan, (Iām the only Juan) he thought it was so funny to be so rude to us. He did not take it seriously at all. Poor customer service. They had no other customers at the time also. We couldāve eaten and left quickly. So...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible location if you want good service. I went to this location for the second time in a month and both times were a joke. I went yesterday to pick up my online order and when I arrived 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready I was met by 2 employees talking and playing on their phones and no food. I had to convince them I really had an online order then they went to make it and only brought be half of my order, thankfully I noticed before I left. I had to then convince them that my order contained twice as much food. They made up for the missing items and the employee who brought me my remaining order was eating as he made my food and handed it to me with a sandwich in his mouth. The chicken and brisket were great but the tortillas it was wrapped in was literally dripping with fryer grease and even then they broke apart. The picture on the online ordering page clearly has flour tortillas with sliced cheese, I was given old extra grease covered corn tortillas with a pinch of sprinkled cheese. If you want good Dickeys their are two other locations within a 10 minute drive, this location is not worth it.
UPDATE
