My husband and I stopped by Salad and Go in the late afternoon 3:30 ish on Friday. I had been curious about it since we always see it when we go to our doctor at MCP. We decided to give it a try. We ordered the Cobb and BBQ Ranch, both with Chicken. Ordering was easy and fast. We were thinking (like we do with EVERY fast food salad) "Oh, it'll be just average quality for the price." When we got home, we were pleasantly surprised. The salad leaves were so fresh and crisp, as well as the toppings. Not a browned leaf in the bunch! The chicken was actual Chicken, not "chicken cubes from a bag!" The dressings for both were delicious and not overpowering. The amount of organic salad alone was impressive. We shared a Cobb and that was more than enough for the both of us. The Cobb was fantastic. Super fresh and crisp salad, plump cherry tomatoes, lots of bacon and real chicken. The dressing was perfect in my opinion. I like my dressing to complement the salad, not overpower it, and I thought it was perfect. We dug into the BBQ Ranch after the Cobb and that was equally delicious. The dressing had a bit of smokiness and a little kick to it. It went really well with the black beans, pico, tortilla strips, and avo. I'm usually a hands down BBW Ranch/Southwest salad anytime I order it anywhere, but Salad and Go's Cobb salad just made me a Cobb lover. I'm shocked that there is a place where you can get organic, fresh, real food for $5.74! The drinks are $1, and its fast! My husband commented that Salad and Go has better quality salads than most sit down restaurants and not they don't price gouge you, either. How many fast food places (I should say the same about sit down restaurants too) offer fresh organic salads without charging you $14 or more? It's only $5.74!! The quality and value for the price is terrific. Just impressed, really! Overall I highly recommend Salad and Go. We will definitely be picking up salads here when we go to MCP, or anytime we're wanting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Salads And Go and this has been my "go to" location since they opened. Unfortunately, I had a bad interaction at the drive through. I'm on medicine and can't have certain items. I love to see what seasonal items they have since I like to try different things. I saw they had a grapefruit lemonade and I didn't not have my phone and mistakenly assumed I would be okay if I ordered it. I had a feeling I was wrong, and after my husband placed the order and prior to arriving to pay, found out I was indeed wrong. I told my husband to apologize to the gentleman but I could not take the grapfefruit lemonade since it could cause a toxic reaction with the medication I am taking but, I would like to still have a lemonade and would like a different one. My husband informed the gentleman working the drive through who angrily moved the lemonade to the side, started texting on a device and proceeded to ignore my husband's request for a second lemonade. I was upset because I was still willing to pay and wanted lemonade, I just couldn't have the one I originally wanted. I felt bad since I was getting drinks for my husband and I and he forgoed his drink to me. We have bad days, I know I've been there. Just make sure if it's getting too much, step back, take a break, breathe since your action could cause unfortunate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat concept, excellent (and fast!) helpful service, a healthy alternative to the fast food desert that is much of Plano. Large salads, fair price, quality ingredients. Especially appreciate the different variety of leaf lettuces used (NOT chopped iceberg) in the salads. Tried Greek, Cobb, Caesar for family lunch; generous quality ingredients in each. Dressings unique and tasty (you decide the portion to apply), and the salad bowl made it easy to shake and coat the whole salad with no mess. Forks and napkins on offer, free. We will return again.
Why not 5 stars (relatively minor cons)? ā¢chicken (1 of 2 protein choices) was slightly overcooked, maybe part of startup issues. I'll certainly try again, and try the tofu too, to see ā¢lettuce pieces generally larger than bite sized: for a To Go salad, smaller would be ideal, for easier consumption ā¢best access only if traveling north on Coit; southbound awkward. Possible to access from 15th St., but you have to be observant. Other takeout places on the south side of Coit in this area in the past vanished after a year or two, probably from difficult access for half their potential customers. Hope the city of Plano will fix this Really hope management values feedback, and can lobby the city for turn lane...
