I had an utterly disappointing experience with Vocelli's Pizza recently, which left me appalled and frustrated. I had placed an order with them for delivery, expecting them to serve me at my location. To my astonishment, my order ended up at the wrong place and when I tried to address the issue, the driver claimed that I wasn't at the place where I had asked them to deliver. It felt as if my concerns were falling on deaf ears.
I found this situation particularly concerning, given that I had pre-paid for my order. In the normal course of business, I would expect a service provider to take that extra step, in this case, making a simple phone call to confirm the location, to ensure customer satisfaction. But instead, they casually handed over my food to a stranger. To add salt to the wound, the driver was tipped well by this stranger per Joyce “the manager” , despite the fact that I had already paid a hefty $42 for the food.
Wanting to resolve the matter, I called in to ask if they would compensate me for this mishap. I was stunned by the lack of empathy and customer service skills displayed by Joyce, who I was told was the "manager". Her blunt response was they are not doing anything but calling the police and she put the blame squarely on me, arguing that it was my fault. It's worth noting that I never demanded a refund, all I was asking was for them to make things right.
The whole ordeal was a nightmare and I was left feeling dejected. For a business that thrives on customer satisfaction, this level of service is simply unacceptable. It's unfortunate to have had such a horrible experience with Vocelli's Pizza in...
Read moreWould leave no stars if I could. Placed an order on DoorDash Storefront (to feed two adults and four children… A $60 ORDER) was told to arrive about an hour after placing the order. Arrive at the store, the disheveled woman at the front counter first told me that I’d already picked it up. When I said no I didn’t, she checked and said according to her screen it had been picked up. She and her coworkers began discussing what happened to the order, I suggested it maybe hadn’t been made. She huffed and said she did make it, so then I said that they gave it to the wrong customer. Every employee immediately left the front counter and began talking loudly about me in the kitchen (about 15 feet away like I couldn’t hear them). I stood in the front waiting to maybe speak to a manager, nobody came out until another customer came in to pick her order up. At that time, I’d asked to speak to a manager, and was denied and told I couldn’t be refunded unless I contacted DoorDash. I didn’t want a woman with a snarky attitude remaking my food so she could spit on it, I wanted my money back. As I was leaving the two employees at the counter began chuckling as if it was funny that I was out $60 due to their...
Read moreI had a family member get me pizza from Vocelli's recently while I was under the weather. I have passed this location a lot, and even stopped in once, but was never able to really get anything (my busy schedule - not their fault.) Vocelli being something of a bigger chain, but based in Pittsburgh, it's got a unique place in my heart.
That being said, I'm super happy to say that the Vocelli near where I live is awesome.
The pizza and other items were super fresh, good ingredients, and were all assembled nice and tidy. The eating was great, and they didn't skimp on the provided extras, whether utencils or dipping sauce.
I would hesitate to say it's competing for the best Pittsburgh pizza, which is a VERY steep competition. BUT, the pizza was very good. I'd say it's really doing well-above your average pizza chain. It's definitely worth stopping in to try if they're...
