So I stopped into Texas Roadhouse around 3pm when they were first opening up for the day to speak with someone so I could set up a surprise birthday dinner party for my wife later that same night. Upon arriving at this location I met the host at the greeters station where I began to explain my intentions. The host said that she needed to call the party coordinator to set up the plans for later that evening. I don't remember the girls name due to her inability to leave her attitude at the door before coming to speak with me about bringing in a party where people would be spending money at their establishment. I explained that I would like to have my wife's surprise party here and was wanting to see if they would work with me toake this night as special as possible for my wife's birthday. I already knew before going here that they don't really do dinner reservations, and I was told that I would have to call in around 5pm to be placed on the waiting list for a table. I asked if it would be possible for people to arrive ten minutes early so that they could be seated before I arrive ten minutes later with my wife and kids to complete the surprise. I know that businesses have policies or whatnot but you would think that they would wanna cooperate in order to ensure this be a memorable event in order to have people return for future events and bring in money for their business but that's not the impression that I got. I was told that they couldn't put tables together so that we could eat together and even had the audacity to put our dinner party at two separate booths back to back to each other with NO CHANCE of us enjoying this memorable event together! They didn't even put is in an area that we could interact with each other due to the amount of traffic that had to walk past us to be seated at their tables! We were put at two booths closest to the door and when I asked for us to be able to sit together some way, I was rudely refused! When I got to the restaurant later with my party after being checked in for an hour and a half earlier we were met with rude interactions from the same lady and a different lady saying something about our seating arrangement and it we were ALL under the impression that some of the staff had intentionally sat us where they did. We ended up haveing two amazing servers who did their best at meeting our request so that's the only reason I didn't give this place less of a rating. Whoever the blond party coordinator is needs additional training in customer service. I myself own a business and would never treat my customers the way we were treated and we will NEVER bring another party to this location...
Read morePrime Rib piece was big but tasted "odd" to say the least. First couple bites had an odd flavor of bologna, followed by a mild unpleasant smokey flavor and then other bites that tasted like what Prime Rib should taste like imho. It was anything but enjoyable and I would not recommend it. It was served to me a unappetizing color of red and large chunks of fat that really turned me off quite honestly and did not look appetizing at all. The smokey flavoring wasn't good either, ruined the natural taste which imho again, is far superior. They over salt everything but isn't indicated in the menu. Like "buttered corn" as it is written in the menu. It is actually SEASONED (and strongly so) buttered corn that I wouldn't have ordered had I known. I tried it, didn't like it at all. Manager said that's just the way they cook things which is a ridiculous answer. Same with my salted potato. No mention in the menu, and waitress never asks if you want it salted or not. I ordered Prime Rib with baked potato but I'm supposed to know somehow all by myself that the potato is salted with no info by the waitress or on the menu. Same thing happened last time we were there about 3yrs ago or more. I've had 4 bad experiences in 6 total visits over the years but no more. Manager said they aren't trained to ask (lol wtf) customers if they want salted potato or not. They should. So easy to do and now this is the 2nd time my entire meal has been ruined by excess salt liquifying and salting everything on my plate that I don't want to be salted. This is my last visit, this place is a joke really, and for the life of me I can't figure out what people like about it. My wife's food was also over salted and she didn't like hers either. My wife's Pepsi had too much syrup and was heavy and too sweet. I ordered an Old Fashioned but it was terrible and made wrong ugh - tasted like 3 shots of Makers Mark with ice and a weird looking cherry (?) at the bottom when it is supposed to be garnished with an orange peel. If this is their version it is awful. Manager gave my wife and I a free appetizer which was nice but unnecessary because we won't be going back. Spent $74 but it wasn't worth it. Very disappointed...
Read moreI attempted to share my comments directly with Texas Roadhouse first but their customer satisfaction survey did not provide sufficient space for the pertinent details. I ordered online and received confirmation my "TO-GO" order would be ready at 8:17 pm. At 7:51 I received a text "Thanks for ordering. Text the word "HERE" after you park. Text STOP to opt out TXRH" At 8:19 pm I texted HERE and immediately received a message "Sorry. Your order isn't ready yet. Please stay in your car and keep your phone handy. We'll text you when it's ready for pick-up. - TXRH" No worries I thought, that happens. at 8:40 I sent a text "Hi. I was expecting my order at 8:17. Just wanted to make sure everything is OK - Thanks." No response. At about 8:49 I went to the "TO-GO" window. The young lady asked my name and retrieved a bag from among three that were sitting in front of her. "It's here, sorry"" she said, To be clear, I think she was. She asked if I needed utensils (no thanks) and to review the contents of my order (no thanks). I took my order expecting the Cactus Blossom to be colder than I like and was not surprised when it was. The House Salad was fine. I got my extra dressing and rolls. Ease of ordering 5 stars; Completeness of order 5 stars; Portion size 5 stars; Appearance and taste of food 1 star (the mushy cold onion REALLY hurt you here); Customer service 1 star (assuming 0 stars would mean I hadn't been served at all). At 9:04 pm I received the following text "Your order is ready. Please follow the signs to our TO-GO pick up area. - TXRH". Use of technology
