I'm starting to like the vibe of Starbucks. Between the soft unrecognizable Indie music, the solid baked goods and tea, and the general laid back atmosphere I've experienced between the locations in the Quad Cities, I like them more than I used to. It was, in fact what I needed after work today, so I headed to this location off of Middle Road near the old Duck Creek Mall area.
This Starbucks has many of the trappings present in other Starbucks, including part of the walls being covered in wood paneling, plenty of windows, and a painting portraying something east Asian, like a coffee plantation or tea field (I'm not entirely sure...). The floors are composed of modern looking dark ceramic tile, while the ceiling plenum is exposed, allowing full view of the HVAC ductwork, conduits, and wood beam supports. Strips of accent lights are suspended above the dining area.
By contrast the area behind the counter has either drop ceiling or drywall, with a mix of recessed and accent lighting throughout. There's a dull blue/grey backsplash composed of hexagonal ceramic bits and some wood molding. There was an interesting contrast between the brighter lighting in the prep area and the lower, softer lighting on the dining space. Overall, I liked it.
Not much really to say about my drink and pastry - I got an iced peach green tea lemonade and some vanilla bean scones. Both were of comparable quality to those on offer at other Starbucks. The service was similarly good - the barista who took my order was nice, as was the person who gave it to me.
All in all, I like the space and would return if not for it being out of my normal work and home areas. It's a good Starbucks - fast service, acceptable drink and food quality, and a relaxing space with comfy chairs and other seating....
Read moreThis place isn’t what it used to be. Honestly the past several times I’ve come here, the service is slow and they don’t really listen, and last time I went thru the drive thru and mobile ordered, my food was partially cold and my flat white was so foamy and the milk was so burnt that it tasted awful and the cup was mostly foam. Such a waste. I won’t be coming here again🙁
Welp. I did in fact come to this location again. I mobile ordered while in line, because the line was a bit long, no big deal…when I get to the window, my items were ready to go, but Deb at the window proceeded to lecture me on how I should just order at the speaker, because this, that and the other-I can’t remember what she told me, but it was so condescending and not necessary. I mobile order because I have bad anxiety and never know what I want. So what if I order in the parking lot?? Don’t tell me how to order my Starbucks. Very...
Read moreI came here a couple months ago and got a brown sugar shaken expresso. I’ve got this drink every single day for the last two years. Majority of the time I goto the Starbucks closer to my house but I was up early and this was one of a few open before 6am. I got the drink and left a realized 3 sips in my drink was half full. It also didn’t taste the same at all. They remade it with less ice and fixed it but the fact that I got served it in the first place is annoying. Paying $7 for a drink that is mainly ice and doesn’t taste right , it didn’t even look right. Anyways it’s been a couple months and I decided to try again , and again the same exact experience. My drink has way more ice than normal , didn’t look the same or taste the same and gone in 6 sips. Very frustrating considering how expensive these drinks are. I didn’t have time to go back and get my drink remade. However I won’t...
